Awesome product for my senior dog!
This might be the best purchase I have made in years! My dog is 17. He's blind and deaf and food is one of his true joys. I don't want to overdo it with treats so the likimat is a wonderful solution! I have had it for 2 days and it has been a true gamechanger. It keeps him engaged and really does satisfy him better than just giving him a treat. He started a night time ritual of begging, getting a treat and repeating for 45 minutes. Of course, I am a pushover so I kept giving in. I'm looking forward to seeing if this helps in the car. He used to love rides but gets anxious now. We're going on a 75 minute ride tomorrow and am hoping this quells his anxiety for at least some of the trip. I opted for the heavier mat as opposed to the suction cups, as I feel it fits our needs better. So far, I used vanilla yogurt and put it in the freezer and tonight discovered that braunswager (liverwurst) works great, as you can just cut the end of the tube and rub into the grooves. I didn't freeze the mat for that, but I might tomorrow before our car ride just to make it last longer. Thanks likimat! This product is excellent! Also, after several dental cleanings over the years Jimmy is left with few teeth. I've read that this is soothing for their gums as well. I can't tell if this is the case, but he certainly enjoys it. Very easy to clean, which is also a huge plus! I think it's the silicone that makes it easier to wash out any remaining food particles. This product is wonderful!🤗🐾😎

No, it's not a Kong. Yes, it is awesome anyway.
Look people. This isn't a chew toy. It's not DESIGNED to be one. It's an interactive toy, which still means you have to pay attention to your dog and teach them how to use and enjoy it safely. If my 9 month old, 80+ lb male doberman puppy, can enjoy this safely & happily with my supervision, I'm sure yours can too! Licking stimulates the endorphin producing part of the brain. It can calm & entertain. I use hot water, soak kibble with coconut oil, almond butter, whatever else is around that doesn't stain carpet. Puree it in my magic bullet & voila, treat paste for spreading and then freeze. Teach them to lick & NOT pick it up and chew & you've got a few minutes of treats and entertainment. When it's empty, take it away. Easy as that. I was skeptical, but I ignored the negative reviews and tried. A week later same puppy mentioned above needed surgery and this has been a godsend. Try it. It's worth it.

Not too "tuff"
I was underwhelmed by the quality. I expected something more sturdy when I paid practically twice as much for the "tuff" version. I gave this to my dog who isn't a huge chewer and he caused this much damage in just a couple minutes.

Not Sturdy Enough
I brought this for my dog to curb is behavior of licking the floor. We initially got the green soother, which he broke off many of the nubs. I purchased this one thinking it would withstand his nibbling. While it took longer, he managed to damage it in the first sitting. Let me also add that he had most of his front teeth pulled and somehow managed to do this. Looks like I'll be looking for a sturdier pad. If you have a dog who nibbles at all, I would consider buying a different design instead of the soother.

My dog is impressed
Let me tell you, my 6 year old boxer boy has anxiety. He shakes and trembles when he sees that we are leaving to go anywhere. It breaks my heart. I say an ad of FB and decided to check on amazon for it. I got it in the mail, cleaned it up, and put greek yogurt on it. My boy went nuts over it. I have started to give this to him frozen so it lasts longer. I give it to him in his crate and he gets so lost in licking the yogurt that he forgets that we are leaving and he does not shake or tremble. This is the only thing that I have found that will calm him. Apparently, for a dog, licking releases endorphins which of course, makes them happy. This makes him so happy. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has a dog or cat that has anxiety. I actually bought 3 of these to send to my friend who has a dog rescue. She just got them the other day and I am waiting to hear her reviews. For me and my Charlie, this is a Godsend.

Decent non-slip, buying another!
I loved this! But more importantly, my dog loved it! As soon as I got it in the mail, I cleaned it thoroughly, then smeared about 3 tablespoons of peanut butter in. It took her about 10-15 minutes to finish and she licked it clean! She’s napping now, so it’s worth it to me.I recommend using something similar to a vegetable brush if you want to hand clean it, as it might tear your sponge apart. It was nice because it didn’t move on the hardwood floor so she wasn’t pushing it all over the house, which is what I was most skeptical of. I look forward to buying another one to have a few on hand!

Impressive
My lab has anxiety. He licks the carpet when he gets anxious. Even though it’s not a constant thing, It drives my husband crazy. My mom mentioned these mats to me and I was hesitant since Dexter is definitely a chewer. But….WOW! The lickimat is fantastic! My pup will lick it for any where from 15 minutes to an hour. I started out with a little yogurt but now I have a recipe routine. I mix a tablespoon of peanut butter, 2 tablespoons of plain no sugar added Greek yogurt, and half a small mashed up banana. It spreads a thin layer across the entire lickimat. Then I put it in the freezer for a couple hours. As soon as I put the mat out for my lab (& now my golden too) it’s like nothing else exists. He doesn’t bark if the doorbell rings, beg at the table, paw at us for attention. My dogs both lay on the floor and lick the mats even after the food is gone. Neither has chewed off any pieces. Keep in mind I always supervise anytime they have a toy or the lickimat. And no more carpet licking for Dexter. I’ve had 2 lickimats for a month and both look brand new even with me putting them in the dishwasher multiple times a week. Great product and delivery was fast too.

Excellent
Bought two for my furbabies and could not be happier. After dinner and their "dessert", (fruit I dry for them and a bit o'cheese), each night I spread something soft on there and give each of them a mat. It takes about 3 - 5 minutes for them to be done and I quickly take both up so there are no issues. They calm down right away and do NOT lick the carpet anymore!!! HIGHLY recommend.

Ups and downs!
When we first got this my dog absolutely loved it and we were really pleased with the purchase. The first couple of times he used it we had to guide him to just lick it rather than try to scrape it with his teeth and all was fine once he got the hang of it. He then became really subdued and his lip and gum swelled right up. We took him to the vet and a little nodule had got lodged in his gum causing him a lot of pain and a big vet bill.

My dog loves it, maybe even too much
I decided to try this one after my dog managed to lick his flexible LickiMat to death, but sadly it didn’t quite survive its first use. Definitely seems like a really sturdy mat, and looks nice too, but it seems to be little trickier for him to lick whatever’s on it off. Although it keeps him busy for longer, he only needed a minute while unsupervised to decide that the best way to get at the stuff on it was to eat the LickiMat too. I hadn’t intended to leave him for long periods with a it as I knew he’d definitely chew it, but I didn’t expect him to have a crack at it when I left him for a moment. I don’t really want to rate it any less than 5 stars though, as he loves the LickiMats, and was always excited whenever I got his previous one out. Definitely makes for great (supervised) entertainment for him.If you want a toy that you can leave with treats in for a dog who’s a chewer, I would highly recommend trying a Kong. It’s the only thing that’s endured my dog’s power-chewing, and it’s also the only toy I feel comfortable leaving him with when stuffed with treats.

A durable lickimat for a chewer
I absolutely love this lickimat for my dog as he is a bit of a serial chewer. He has managed to chew bits off the normal lickimats but this is a lot more sturdy and durable, the material is tough. It’s much better quality. The only downside is that it takes a little while to clean as you can’t bend it in the same way as the normal lickimats. Best to put it in the sink with some hot water on top to let it soak into the corners. I then use an old toothbrush to get whatever is left out.Highly recommend this though. My dog always get so excited when he sees it coming.

LICKIMAT Buddy Tuff
The LICKIMAT Buddy Tuff is not as tough as they would like you to think. Like many, I have experienced an over zealous Springer tear the LICKIMAT Buddy Tuff apart and it didn't take him long to do it either. In principle the design of the mat works, but if your pooch is like mine and has a ferocious lick, the small crosses that make up the grid are easily torn away from the main body of the mat.And it that were not bad enough, I inadvertently left said pooch alone with the mat once he had removed the dog friendly peanut butter and the good dog that he is, he decided to eat the mat, or at least one corner of it!So, buyer beware - if your dog is supervised and doesn't posses a lick so powerful it literally removes rubber from plastic, the LICKIMAT Buddy Tuff will do just fine. If your pooch is anything like mine, don't bother.

Rubbish!
I spread some peanut butter on to this mat and as soon as my Labrador started licking it the + on it started coming off! This item is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE & IS A HAZARD TO DOGS!
