Very sturdy, comfortable and supportive.
I bought these to replace a pair of Timberland Pros which wore out way too soon. I work outside in CO and the ground is seldom level. Theses boots provide excellent side support (which the Timberlands did not do). They’re very comfortable and seem sturdy. So far I. Very impressed. I would recommend them.

Overall great work boot for toughest work environment!
Overall a good work boot. Took a coupler days of sore feet to break it in. After it's broke in its extremely comfortable. I opted to remove the thin insole for a Timberland Pro insole I purchased through Amazon like a previous reviewer had done. The insole thast comes with the boot lacks quality. Carhart could improve there. The outsole is a flexible rubber which aids traction on slippery surfaces and also gives some to absorb some shock as a person walks. Overall would recommend to someone looking for a comfortable all day work boot.Update: After a year of hard use these boots are still holding up quite good. I've treated them with a waterproofing compound only once. I've put them through power washing and I've spent all day on concrete with them. The inside fabric is wearing through around the toe area. The timberland insoles are still like new and make this book comfortable. Overall would buy these boots again. Leather is still pliable and no tears or cracks even after getting them soaked and drying them on a boot dryer.

Great boot for the price
I'm a professional carpenter always on my feet. I've been through many brands in the past 20 years. Normally I buy Redwing but these are very comparable. Redwing is no longer American owned and quality is going down hill drastically. My last 2 pairs have come apart in the side stitching, had them repaired but same keeps happening. At one time they would just replace but now they try to repair, which doesn't last long. I've kept buying them because of the comfort. O decided enough was enough and tried the carhartts. They did have a break in period of a couple of weeks and I added Dr shoals insoles. They are just as comfortable now and are holding up much better than the Redwings. The carhartts are also half the price, my new favorites.

Four months, and falling apart.
I've never written a review because I've generally been satisfied with my purchases. I purchased these 'work' boots four months ago and they are falling apart. I'm not in construction, but wanted something to protect my ankles from equipment that a move around and steel toes for protection. Work is indoors sorting packages mostly, and I walk on them just a few miles a day. If my work was more demanding like many who may read this review, these boots would've lasted a few weeks. Be warned. My previous boots were Doc Martin's steel toe, and they lasted several years before finally wearing out. I'll go back to them. Save your money.

Pleased that wide is really wide!
I just ordered a pair of 11 wide boots and am very pleased the toe box including the steel toe are wide enough for my toes. The weight and quality seem excellent. I will update the review after several months of wear.

Durability
These boots not only look durable. They are very comfortable and lightweight. I have been able to wear them in the mud in the rain with no leaking into the soles. I’ve tried many different brands of boots and most of them have problems with the souls, the tread detaching from the foot bed. Not with Carhartt
