Podcasting Made Simple: The Step by Step Guide on How to Start a Successful Podcast from the Ground up

I don't know about you but podcast seemed to have exploded over the past decade and nothing seems to be slowing them down. That makes TODAY a great time to start if you've even remotely thought about starting your own.This book won't bog you down with never-ending details about how to get your podcast up and running. Instead, this is more of a "just in time" training to give you the essentials to get started from what equipment to use, the purpose of your podcast, how it get it online and distributed, how to launch it so you actually have listeners from day one, and how to monetize it.Could the author have provided even more details? Sure, but this is podcasting made simple. I'm an analysis paralysis type of person so too much details and steps stop me from even getting started. This book helped put everything in perspective so tell me what I need to do and to ignore the rest.If you're looking to get started, this is a great start.

I purchased this book for a young college student. They loved the presentation of the information and found it helpful to kick start their podcast.

I liked the author’s voice, and the had smart, positive messaging that was easy to breeze through, and the book was very polished, professional in its style. However I would have appreciated a little bit more of a “how to set up your podcast” or “how to get ahead in podcasting” stuff. There was a lot about confidence, vision, self belief and passion, which honestly wasn’t hokey and could be quite motivating, but I would’ve appreciated a bit more balance towards real solid tools over inspiration and principles. But maybe what I’m looking for is not necessarily what others are looking for. I think this would be a great little book to have as a kind of virtual coach if you’re constantly trying to talk yourself into giving this a go!

Can tell the author speaks from experience. Clear points

I was looking for an introductory type book to help get my husband and I started with our podcast. I stumbled across “Podcasting Made Simple” and so glad I did. Mr. Larson writes in a very easy to read and understandable step-by-step format. I feel as though I can jump in and get started right away and follow his instructional advice along the way. I will definitely be reading this book again and taking notes.

The author did a competent job of presenting podcasting but frankly the paucity of anecdotes from real life and maybe the plethora of what appear as a ponderous parade of platitudinous proper podcasting practices made it a tedious slog. It seemed untethered from real life and often just a rah rah regurgitation of obviously common sensical things to do to have a successful podcast. Sorry. This was a boring how to text book. Competent yes but zzzzzzzzzzz

As a solo online entrepreneur, I was considering creating podcasts to attract more audience. I see a podcast similar to a blog (with the different medium used but mostly the same principles). However, I wanted to find essential differences between both forms.The author provides many details; for example, the length and timing to keep it entertaining (shorter but more frequent is usually better).The podcast script example is a great starting point, especially for me, who needs a structure and have difficulty to start.The book goes beyond technical aspects and covers topics such as building and expanding your brand, long term success, brainstorming my vision and SMART goals before starting, and focuses o quality in every step.

Really enjoyed and took a lot away from reading Larson's book. As an aspiring podcaster I wanted to understand the playing field and what's involved in getting myself recorded, getting myself out there, and even why (whether?) this platform is right for me. I appreciate his passion and it comes through in his writing. Five stars.
