This massage ball is GREAT to help those trigger points in the back, neck, and hip area.
I highly recommend this deep tissue massage ball when you need fixing in a hurry, those trigger points are screaming and you can't get to a massage therapist. I tried other smaller balls like a tennis ball, a handball, and even the dog's chuck it ball. None of them were as sturdy. This one gets right to the problem area. I find when I stand against a sturdy wall or heavy door and place the massage ball in the right places and move it around, it give so much relief. Oh yes, sometimes it does hurt, but when it quits hurting, I know I have found the right spot that is troubling me. I have no idea if you could use it on the floor, as I am not as coordinated as I used to be, and haven't tried it because I know what works for me. The ball is not heavy and probably made of Styrofoam and doesn't lose its shape. The dogs would love to play with it, but luckily it is bigger than their mouths. I bought two of them: one to keep at the office and one at home. I might add, when I use it at the office, I have a large heavy solid wooden door. It is perfect when I realize I have been sitting way too long and all of my muscles are on fire.

I like it better than a foam roller because it can ...
Whoa, Nelly. I have very tight muscles and have had chronic achilles problems for years. A few days rolling my hips, thighs, calves, arches and glutes with this has made a surprising difference. I've had surgery and done extensive PT, used tennis balls and lacrosse balls, and even get monthly massages. This ball tops them all. I like it better than a foam roller because it can get into small areas more precisely, without having to do so much balancing. I like it better than tennis or lacrosse balls because it's wider, so it's easier to make a bigger difference in big muscles like glutes and hamstrings. It also works on a wall for lighter pressure on your chest, back and arms.Just buy this. And use it every day. Worth every penny.

BEST ball or roller I've used. Especially for hips!
I love this for deep tissue massaging! I am a runner and have many issues with my hips, glutes, and IT band. I've used foam rollers, lacrosse balls, and the rolling pin and this is by far my favorite. You can just lean against a wall and feel it working or for my intense roll on the ground over it. It's the only thing that will release the muscles in my hip. The lacrosse ball is too small and specific and the hips muscles are too big for it, and the foam roller is big and general.

2/3 of the size might have been better. What is most annoying
Not for massage, maybe for yoga. Just too hard and a bit too big. 2/3 of the size might have been better. What is most annoying: doesn't grip on tiled walls or wooden floors like other massage balls do. Because of the lack of grip and hardness, it launches. Maybe a good ball for floor-based yoga for others, yet didn't work for me,

Does eventually come apart but feels great
I use this at least five nights a week applying a lot of pressure to it and it definitely works out all sorts of knots and makes me feel very relieved before bedtime. But it does eventually fall apart. It first starts pinching you as it comes apart and eventually it’ll fully split apart, so be careful.

Perfect in Every Way
Perfect size, diameter, texture and hardness for glutes, hamstrings, scapular area, calves. I have tried everything else for these areas, and the GoFit Ball solves all the problems. In general, it supplements the foam roller (which is good for quads, lats), but easier to pack for a trip.

Magic Green Ball of Relaxation and Zen
This is my favorite massage tool and I have baskets devoted to all kinds of tools! I do yoga and get acupuncture and am very active but still tend to have tight back muscles and a lot of upper and lower back tension from work-related stress. Of all my myriad massage tools for back pain, this is the best and it's almost as helpful as a professional massage. It's about 4x larger than most lacrosse sized balls but almost weightless. Somehow it gets rid of tension that other tools cannot. Because of the large size, it's easy to get a back massage lying against your couch or in bed. I loved this so much I bought two. I cannot leave home without it. It's going with me on vacation to Buenos Aires, Mendoza and Santiago as it's so light that it can be packed in a suitcase while adding no weight! If you have muscle tension and stiffness, buy this as I promise you will love lying against it while sitting up or reclining. Awesome. Thanks, GoFit.

Okay
I'm not too entirely impressed by this massage ball, but it does seem to work well. Its a little awkward when using against the wall and using it against the floor can create too much pressure. That being said, if you are trying to work one specific spot on your back or somewhere hard to reach, it does work well.
