One of the Best Films with amazing Actors

I look for this on my various movie channels so often - and I do have a DVD but I don't watch them any more SO I decided to buy this digital version so I can watch whenever I want. The acting of all major and minor players on this one is incredible as is the unbelievable performance of Grace Kelly.....ah those were the days.

One of Hitchcocks finest suspense thrillers with a superb cast. Well worth watching

Nothing not to like - Hitchcock nailing it

The film is one of Hitchcock's best - no point in adding to the already hundreds of reviews out there or on IMDB.comThe blu-ray disk itself has a splendid re-printed and remastered image, but is very annoying when you want to kick it off at the start of the film. There are the obligatory copyright things, and then, a fairly long infomercial about Univeral studios and its past films, which you can't get past without it all playing. This happens if you termporarily pause the film for too long, or stop it to restart. Some disks do behave badly like this - others are fine, so it isn't down to the blu ray player (I have 2 different ones, and it does this on both).

I love the fact that this is the real classic 12 angry men I have tried online so many times looking for it but prices were scary

My daughter needed to watch this movie for a school project. However, the whole family got hooked on it and it caused much discussion, and we were on the edge of our seats at the key moments. It is beautifully shot, and fascinating on many levels. One of its charms is to see the world before mobile phones. I will revisit other Hitchcock movies now, as there is a true brilliance in the story telling.

Il film è tra i più belli della storia del cinema. Qui il grande regista al thriller abbina uno sguardo sulle vite di svariati abitanti del condominio di fronte alla finestra del protagonista. Una variegata umanità ognuno con i suoi problemi i suoi sogni le sue delusioni ecc. Un capolavoro da vedere e rivedere.

The quality of the disc is excellent; the colour true, the soundtrack clear and the overall picture sharp.Rear Window is an unalloyed masterpiece: taut, bold in structure, composition and audacious in theme, it is utterly compelling burnished by the splendid acting of James Stewart and Grace Kelly.The film is set entirely in the flat of the photographer played by Stewart, and our view is his of the flats facing his and of the courtyard before. This is Hitchcock's third attempt at a "closed" environment. Lifeboat was set mostly in a lifeboat after the sinking of an ocean liner and Rope was set entirely in a small apartment. Rear Window is the most successful of the three.Stewart spies on his neighbours, and the film has much to say directly and indirectly about voyeurism. It makes us the viewers complicit with Stewart. The beautiful close-up loves scenes between Kelly and Stewart make us feel as though we are spying on them through a keyhole.Parts of the film are suspenseful and thrilling but i won't write anything about them lest i spoil other viewers fun.Rear Window is Hitchcock at his best in his somewhat amoral world.
