IQ Air Substitute Charcoal Filter
I'm a big fan of IQ Air Purifiers and have 4 of them. The filters are crazy expensive, so I've been trying various off-brands. This one is working just fine. I can't tell any big difference either way.

Carbon pellets fall out
The media could not be loaded. This filter has small round pellets instead of the larger rougher pellets like the original IQ Air carbon filter. The pellets are all inside the bag and coming out of the cardboard frame. I'm afraid to install it as I don't want to chance the pellets falling out onto the fan below. It might be a better carbon, like the add says, but I won't know because I don't want to chance ruining my machine. Please re-engineer the cardboard to be thicker and stiffer, like the original, so that the material can't fall out, and then I might try it.

Replacement Charcoal Filter Differs in Construction from the Genuine Article.
This charcoal filter replacement fits in place of the IQAir charcoal filter. The construction is totally different, though. The genuine filter uses charcoal bars whereas the compatible replacement filter uses charcoal balls. If I had to guess, I would say that the charcoal balls might be more effective because there might be more surface area, but who knows?

Unit is half-full, carbon is sketch.
Unit is half-full, carbon is sketch.So the unit isn’t completely full which means air can easily bypass. The ‘carbon’ pellets are unusual - they look like glass bead. Typical carbon media has a matte appears (much like charcoal).I’m just going back to the name brand product that i can trust.

Bad quality
I bought and installed the carbon filter 3 month ago. It is supposed to last 2 years, however the red/orange light is already blinking which means that the filter needs to be replaced soon. It is better to buy the filters from Air IQ directly. They are more expensive but the quality is guarantiert.
