Wall of light
Puts out a wall of light.My batteries did not last as long as I thought they would but I’m switching to a higher MAH battery to take care of that.If you want your old maglite to be spectacular, get this drop in. Easy install and bright.I love the different modes you can do. I use the lowest setting all the time.

Nice upgrade
Bought it to upgrade the D cell Maglite I carry in my truck.Very bright.Minimal usage to date so battery life is unknown.Almost a year later of setting in my truck.Function checked every several months.Seems totally unaffected by weather/temperature change.Condensation.

Bright, fits well, interface a pain
Physically, a great-fitting drop-in for a standard incandescent 3D Maglites.Max brightness is good, and the lowest-brightness mode available is acceptable.But the "interface" is a PITA. Not only is it designed for lights with a click on/click off behavior that's "backwards" from Maglites, the click-counting and poor feedback/confirmation is maddening.(I know there are limited options with only a power button and the light itself as input/output methods... but I was tempted to pull it apart and find a JTAG port or something similar to change the settings instead!)

This one piece kit is the best thing you can do with a 2d Maglite.
