medium. I got one for my son that wears 8-10 clothing and is 60 pounds and the medium was a little big on me and I'm 5 foot 2 and 107 pounds. So if your son is two inches taller than me, than the medium will fit.

Yes. It's ok for costume for a night, but the one I bought started fraying around the button holes just buttoning it once. Buttons are not on it great, and it seems to run on the slim fit side, which worked for us. I don't know if it would survive the washer much less the dryer lol. It looks nice and is, like I said, good for a costume.
