Q: Can you detach the cord from the headphones? My daughter is sensitive to sound and we would like to use them for noise control also.

It does not. It just comes with the standard cord. You would have to buy the splitter separate. .

Q: Will these for a two year old?

Yes. Mine were 2 and 3 when I first bought them. The 2 year old wore them on the plane, but not too much in the car
