Just Wow
Wow!Amazing! I saw this film in the cinema in 3D and I was amazed by it so I got it on dvd (also because my sister wanted to see it because she hadn't seen it before) I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was on the big screen but I was wrong. Without the 3D glasses (that darken the screen slightly) you are able to appreciate the wonderful colours and animation properly. It is magnificent! The music that has been chosen is also outstanding and really gets you in to the carnival spirit - there were a few times both at home and at the cinema when I wanted to get up and dance! The storyline is great and teaches you to believe in yourself which I think is a great message for children. This film is highly recommended and is one of the best animations I have seen - You won't be disappointed! Now off to carnival! :D

Hmmmmm! How d'ya get it to play 3d?
Saw this in 3d at the cinema some months ago. Loved it so much that I had to get the 3d blu-ray. Watched it first in 2d as there were not enough 3d glasses to go round. Then tried the 3d version later on. Couldn't see much difference from the 2d version!PROBLEM! The film refused to play 3d saying that it was not linked to a 3d display. I checked all connections and tried again. Fearing the worst that the (Sony) tv or equipment had developed a fault, I tried another 3d film and everything was working perfectly. Tried the "Rio 3d" again but problem still there. Never one to quit easily, I played around with it and found that if I ignored the film start button but clicked on "scene 1"selection instead, the 3d film would start from the beginning in 3d. So basically it does work in 3d, just not in the way I expected it to.THE FILM......It's a cracking film with excellent graphics, great music and atmosphere although I find that 3d is best suited to slow moving subjects. My own tv has a 200hz refresh rate but that doesn't seem to improve the smoothness of the film by much. The content, I award 5*Ease of playing 2*3d effects, I award 4*Amazon service 5* (of course)Overall......4*

Good film great value
Good film but a few parts had to be skipped forward at my 4 year old request. But that does not say anything bad about the film. What I am impressed with is the triple play!!! You get to choose your format. So if you are a slave to Apple then you get a code to download from iTunes or you can choose windows. On top of that you are getting a blue ray and a DVD. No brainier really buy on iTunes for 9.99 or get three copies for the same price

Perfect viewing for ALL ages.
I bought this for my daughter and a very worthwhile purchase it has been too. Avidly watched and thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family, ages from 7, 10, 14, 15 right through to adult.Since the film arrived on Saturday (today's Monday) it has been watched 3 times by my daughter and I am sure many more viewings will be on the cards. For those of you who are not already in the know ... Rio is the humorous yet emotionally charged story of 'Blu' a nerdy flightless macaw who embarks on an adventure and finds loyalty, friends, love and ultimately his inner hero.'Rio' is exactly what you would expect from the accomplished makers of 'Ice Age', exciting adventures, beautiful scenery, wonderful and memorable characters and a story full of humour and originality.Perfect for your collection of DVDs

alright for either family or singular viewing. unless your normal. then its only really ok for family viewing.
great film to watch with the kids... or alone... because like me you have no friends and no social life and spend your time instead playing video games, pretending to be a nice person, messing around with useless technology before watching a children's film and crying yourself to sleep.the 3d was also nice quality.the films is well animated considering the studio, and all in all, it is rather entertaining. the musics pretty good too. just ask my neighbor. :-)

very bright and colourful
Bought this film to pop in the dvd player on a rainy afternoon, my friends little girl loves this film so i thought it would be a good choice. My little girl is 18months and sat through Hop and the most of Lorax. She wasn't that keen on this one and to be honest neither was I.its lovely and colourful but were weren't that bothered about the story.however it was a good price to get the dvd AND digital copy and she may be a little more into it when she is older.
