My dog has a very sensitive tummy but this food works really well for him!He loves the fish version and eats this as soon as I put the bowl down.

Chihuahuas love it
I have two Chi's that are absolutely thriving on barking heads food. I've never seen their coats so silky and shiny and they are full of beans. The duck kibble is a bit bigger than the turkey version but they have no problem eating them. No idea why another reviewers chi has issues eating it as it's not that big and hard. My two have eaten much bigger, harder kibble of other brands in the past. Not had a problem with kibble going rotten either, just roll the bag down and put in air tight container.I highly recommend this food. I've tried orijen, acana, millies, well the dogs have, not me and this is far better than any of those for my two. I can really see the difference in many ways.My only slight niggle if I'm being picky is I'd like to see a bit more meat and a little less sweet potato. By the time the moisture is taken out of the fresh duck the overall meat content is lower than they're making it out to be, most likely around 30% meat not 50%, a bit naughty of them to mislead in this way, therefore the price is a little higher than it should be. Saying that, it's still a very good food, no dubious by-products, derivatives or artifical colours etc and is obviously suits my two who have sensitive tums and various allergies. I'm rotating through all their variations every two two months to try and avoid them becoming allergic to anything else. The best food is not necessarily the top five star, expensive bag price foods as I found out with my two who were quite ill on them but what suits your individual dog(s). This is is far better than any supermarket/pet store brands such as the toxic waste in a bag that passes itself off as dog food, such as Bakers/Pedigree and definitely worth a try.

Fantastic for my dog
My dog loves the taste. The ingredients are high-quality, and I feel confident knowing I’m giving him a healthy, balanced meal. Highly recommend for any dog owner!

Great for fussy poodles, easy on tummy
Dog loved these as soon as I swapped over. No GI issues as you might get with some poorer quality foods. Pack keeps kibble fresh and it actually smells quite good....a little like Marmite. My toy poodle 1 yr old no longer eats this as he gave up after a week but he is just extra fussy. I would say 5 star for quality......but kibble size a little too large for him. He is now on Orijens which is a premium brand but well worth the money. Thank you Barking Heads!!!

The only food I buy
I love Barking Heads. I looked at so many different brands many years ago, wanting something with quality ingredients… and this has just that. My dog has had the chicken, salmon and lamb… and loves them all. She’s very fit and healthy and has a lovely coat.I empty the bags into lidded plastic bins and it lasts for months.

Good food, terrible packaging, customer service stinks
Five stars for the food itself, but the packaging is a major problem. If I order delivery, the bag is usually torn and leaking, quite often patched up with tape, and I worry it’s been contaminated en route, not to mention how much food has leaked out in transit. The bag is not resealable, and is stiff plastic that cuts your hand if you’re not careful. It is very heavy and has no carrying handle. You need to open it with scissors, and find a way to keep it closed unless you want to decant the whole lot into a container. (Yes, I have complained to the company more than once and received no acknowledgement despite the cutesie messaging on the bag.) If you store the bag on a concrete floor, the food inside goes mouldy.Another problem is that they keep changing the formulation of the food without telling customers - a big problem if you have a dog with a sensitive tummy. Over the last few years, frequent pointless redesigns of the packaging have lead to shortages/out of stock and delays with orders.I’m tied to this product as it’s the only one I’ve found that suits my younger dog - she likes it and is thriving on it - but wish I could find a local store to collect it in person and avoid the damaged bags.
