What age is this appropiate for? My granddaughter is 3.

The recommended age for this is 4+ but the scissors are not sharp and with a little practice, your granddaughter should be able to use these.

are the scissors left-handed compatable?

The blade of the scissors does not change, therefore they are not truly ambidextrous. Left handed scissors have the top blade on the left so the person can see the line they are cutting. That being said, if your preschooler just wants to cut paper for fun and get a general idea, these can still work.

Will the scissors cut hair?

There is no blade on the scissors. I did just try to cut my own hair and it did not cut mine :)

Does these work for kids who are left handed?

Oh definately, my grandson is left handed, he is the one I ordered it for, he loves it
