Made in China or Korea ???

@Lasrocas: I think you got it backwards. This appears to be packed, branded & exported by a S. Korean company, using peppers grown in China. After digging for info on similar products for sale both online and in Asian grocery stores in the US, this is a apparently a common practice.

Is this the authentic red pepper powder to use to make kimchi or is this a substitute.

This is an authentic red chili pepper flake powder product to make kimchi; please keep in mind this isn't the ONLY ingredient to make kimchi!

Use coarse or fine for kimchi?

Ideally both would be used as ingredients. If you had to choose one, coarse would be the choice as it gives the flakey texture you normally see on kimchi.
