I have always loved to read, but as I am getting older, my eyes become fatigued more quickly when reading small fonts. This magnifier provides excellent bright light, with 3 different preference settings, and the lightweight, hands-free stand permits the reader to move the reading material as needed, without needing to also support the stand. As with most magnifiers, there is slight distortion along the edges, but overall, it is a wonderful tool that helps me be able to continue my studies and enjoy reading without the uncomfortable distraction of eye strain. I needed a magnifying gadget to do my manicures with. The pros are that light is good enough for this purpose, and the magnification area is wide enough for manicure or book etc... The stand works nice and is study, and the ability to take the magnification part out so you can hold in your hand is nice. The two cons I have noticed is that the magnification plastic catches dust, including the dust omitted if you file your nails with an electric file. And it's not easy to brush off with a micro towel or swatch. The other con is that it can be hard some when when on the stand to find the stop where it's not blurry. When you hold the magnification part in your hand it's easy to move it back and forth from your face to find the spot that works for you, but it's harder to do that when you have to move your hand or an object under the stand to find the sweet spot. Overall this was definitely a good purchase and I use it every time I do my nail or need it for something else. The light isn't really bright but I can add another light source when needed. It's a great gadget and can be very helpful when you need magnification, especially when traveling as the product is really light and come with a silky bag.

I was given a Bible with really small print and I wanted to be able to enjoy my gift so I went looking for a magnifying glass. I loved that this could be handsfree and had lights.My order came as promised and it is perfect. I can use it with or without the stand and it does as promised.I find I use this way more then I thought I would and I highly recommend to anyone.

We were excited to get this after reading so many high reviews. However, the performance was disappointing so we just returned it.Pros:- very light weight - when not using the stand it is easy to hold- good light with 3 color/brightness choicesCons:- Poor image quality that we found difficult to read thru. The plastic lens had obvious rings and seemed to pick up light from all around. (In retrospect, we now see that these problems were mentioned in several of the lower-rated reviews).- The Stand did not work well. With legs on 3 sides, you have to put it on top of what you are viewing, then pick it up when you turn/change the page. When using with a tablet or cell phone, the legs are constantly in the way of your hand.- The stand is light-and-flimsy, so when adjusting the angle or height of the lens you have to use two hands to adjust each side separately in small increments.We are now looking for something with a goose neck stand. There is one by the same brand, but it has the same plastic lens with similar comments about the poor lens quality by several reviewers.

I find this product extremely helpful. This is the third one that I’ve bought so that I can have them in multiple locations. It is lightweight and portable and can fit into small backpacks or compartments. The one caveat I would say is you have to be careful and not getting the magnification side dirty, as it is difficult to clean, so be sure to save the cover and treat them like a pair of glasses. I also have the rechargeable option of this that is in a more permanent spot in My Home. I would recommend this product to people who are visually impaired. .

I have two of these. They are nice and bright when the 3 AAA batteries are new. As the battery power drains over time, and this happens rather quickly if you are using it for an extended length of time, the built-in lights get unacceptably dimmer and definitely are not suitable for reading a traditional book. Since the unit is fitted with AAA's instead of AA's, the battery power doesn't last all that long. As long as there is another light source (computer screen or a standalone reading light), there's no need to use the built-in lights and the screen magnifies the page nicely. I turn on the lights for reading dials and displays.
