Beautiful. But are they REALLY Kolinsky Sable???
"Kolinsky" means a region of Russia where the wild red sables are trapped and the pelts used to make brushes. In the good old USA you cannot import Kolinsky sable fur due to animal rights legislation. Congress is bought and paid-for, but they have time to save the weasels. Maybe it's professional courtesy?Anyway, assuming these were made with the "grandfathered in" sable fur, then they are good, but not excellent, brushes. Unfortunately, for reasons listed above among others, it's getting harder and harder to acquire real Kolinsky sable or ANY kind of animal hair brushes that have any quality without paying a mint. These are quite good for what I do (painting plastic model kits) and I do not know if they'd work for anything else. I do know that red sable is good for watercolor as well as oil painting due to the "stiffness" of the hair. Your results may vary, but for me, these are a great price and a great size.

Decent Brushes
I used these to paint the miniatures shown (wildspire Heroes and Animals set). I'm an okayish painter. The brushes allowed me to get the eyes on these minis decently well, though I'm sure a professional with eyes that are younger than my 40+ years could get better use of them. The different sizes allowed me to do eyes, base coats, and such fairly well. A different brush would be needed for drybrushing.

Great brushes but damaged in shipping
These brushes are great for detailing. Very easy to use. Unfortunately 1 top was totally broken off and 2 were severely bent.. I needed to use the good ones for a custom order that needed finished… I hope the shipping gets better at protecting the brushes because they are awesome to use.

Golden Maple vs. Winsor & Newton #7series
Here is a comparison of Golden Maple brushes to Winsor and Newton series 7. W&N brushes are size larger compared to Golden Maple, the bristles on W&N are a bit stiffer and Golden Maple are softer and don’t have as much spring back, both come to a very fine point when loaded with paint and I would say basically hold the same amount of paint in the brush belly. The handles are the same quality and almost the same shape in and feel. The price point on Golden Maple is unbeatable for the price of $28 for a set of 3 sable brushes that’s $9.33 a brush, and W&N just size #2 you will pay $30, size #1 is $23 and size #0 $20 so in total $73 compared to $28 for Golden Maple brand. Time will tell how long both brands would last in comparison but so far after 1 week of use both performed very well.

Not good for acrylic
Very nice, but a bit too soft for acrylic. That is my only complaint. It says it is for acrylic, oil and watercolor but I wouldn’t buy for acrylic
