Q: Many of the reviews advise spending a little more for a pasta machine instead. Anyone have recommendations for a specific pasta machine?

If you are planning on using this a LOT I can see spending more for a real pasta machine... in which kitchen aid will more than do what your asking... if NOT HOWEVER, I use this professionally in my jewelry business and it works totally wonderfully.

Q: bought an Amaco one but the crank handle is hard to turn, is this one easier? alos it didnt make the slices thick enough i a seen.

I’ve never used the Amaco machine but the one I have is easy to crank. I have not had a problem with it. If you cannot get the clay as thick as you want it just do two layers.

Q: can you use the polymer clay press for air dry clay?

I would not try using mine for air dry clay. I would invest in a clay rolling tube because it's eaier to clean. If you happen to use the Pasta machine you will need to take it apart every time you use it, and take my word for it it is very hard to clean!!! I take mine apart once a month and give it a good cleaning, more often if I use it more, The problem with ary dry ckay is it only take a short time to start drying Thus in my eyed. I wouldn't put myself through all the cleaning time it would take!!!!
