are these high heat resistant?

Hi, Blake here from ATLIN. These vise jaws were not designed specifically with heat resistance in mind. While these jaws are perfectly capable in a hot environment, if they are exposed to a direct flame they will slowly deform. It is recommended to keep these out of a direct flame and instead search for metal vise or PTFE vise jaws.

Can these be cut shorter?

They can be cut shorter, but not by a whole lot. If you cut too much off of either end you'll be cutting into some of the grooves or possibly the magnets. You may be able to cut a half inch off of each side. If you would like a refund, however, you can one through Amazon and we will fully reimburse you for purchase and shipping.

Will these hold the weight of an AR barrel and upper at an angle for using bore rod for cleaning?

Should I use them for motorcycle forks They hold well Have done 4 sets of forks ( seals & bushings) And they are still in great shape
