Perfect if you just want to count steps
I found that clipping this pedometer to a side pocket works very well for me to get an accurate step count. It also counts steps when pushing a shopping cart and using a treadmill in bad weather. I used a fitness watch for a number of years which did not record steps for these activities. (The fitness watches seem to rely on arm swinging.)It took a little experimenting as it did not count accurately for me when clipped to waistband or on the lanyard. Once it was clipped to my side pocket, it worked perfectly. I did not connect with the App, but if you just want step count, you can turn it on & use it right out of the box.

These boots are made for walking!
I just haven't had a chance to use it yet. Too much going on. Will chime in at a later date.

Not worth the aggravation!
This item is a great concept as I want to track my steps every day at work which average about 15,000.However, after three days it died.I didn’t want to use the battery that it comes with so I returned it and we’ll see what happens with my replacement. The three things that I need the steps which was most important.the calories burned and the miles.I don’t like that you can’t shut it off but when it goes to sleep, the battery seems to continue to work. I’m not quite sure what the problem is.I look forward to the new one coming in, and hopefully this item will be just the one I need. They give you a piece that you can hook it on your trousers, which is a good idea for me.I think it’s a good price for what you’re getting, but I don’t like the fact that it died on me so quickly.UPDATE:Got a replacement, used it one time. that night exit I actually took the battery out, hoping to save the battery Life put it in and the second day to use and by midday it completely died. There’s no off switch to save battery life!I would not recommend this at all!!

Not the best choice
Red button is a reset that constantly gets hit and loses the step count. I say if the count isn’t important to you then the 10 price is ok but if you need the correct count this not for you or me.

Okay accuracy when used without the app and might be a little large to wear with all outfits
The Cool Fire 3D Smart Pedometer comes with the step counter unit kept within clip attachment that allows the counter to be placed on a belt or pocket. The unit is a little too heavy to be upside-down on a shirt sleeve, but will hold on to a jacket when upside down (due to being thicker, although I would not due active exercise with it on a sleeve or jacket since it has I reasonable chance of falling off.The package also includes a strap and a second (spare) battery. The set-up instructions are easy to follow and explain how to use the unit. There is also an app that increases the functionality of the device. The app allows daily goals to be set and other data to be recorded/tracked.One important note, the clock (and calendar) does not work unless you connect to the app. I am not sure why they limit it in this way and it ultimately reduces the appeal in my opinion since I prefer not to have numerous apps connected to my phone. If you do not use the app, the unit will still track the number of steps, calories burned and distance walked.Accuracy, I have found that the unit is slightly inaccurate in the step count. When walking indoors with the counter on my jeans pocket, the count was about 11-12% too high when I compared it to my actual number of steps. For me, that is not a huge issue since I prefer to use it as a rough relative count – how did I do overall and compared to other days – rather than an exact measurement device.Accuracy for distance, I also found this device to be slightly inaccurate for the distance. This is likely due to my not using the app and my stride length being longer than anticipated. When comparing my actual distance walked with the recorded distance, the unit showed only half the actual distance (39 act vs 20 recorded). I suspect this would be much more accurate if the app was used and personal data was provided (height, etc.) but I do not intend to use the device in this manner. It was more accurate when I placed the device on my waistband, within about 3%. The distance, however, became less accurate at ~1/4 of the actual distance. The unit will likely be a little large to be unobtrusive on most clothing (measuring 2 3/8” by 1 5/8”) which may be an issue if you plan to wear this at work or when going out.Overall, it is a nice unit with okay accuracy. It is a little large and I would have preferred to be able to enter data directly into the device and not to have to use an app.

Perfect if you want simplicity.
It is super simple, not complicated or fancy. My husband has no knowledge of technology and never will. He wanted to know his steps and miles. and this totally does this.
