Q: I need to buy a mid-range woofer to replace in the box of my Samsung soundbar subwoofer? Does this have good bass that can play at high levels of vol?

It does put out some bass, but only at high volumes. I would describe it as more of a driver than a woofer. It would be great if you wanted to crank Metallica's "Master of Puppets" loud enough for folks on the space station to hear, but less than ideal for getting that punchy bass from, say, gunshots in the hotel lobby gunfight scene in the Matrix.

Q: is the for the pair or a single speaker?

For the single one Sir. I put 4 of these in my 2001 F150 and ran a 760 watt Jensen Audio 4 Channel amp to them and they sounded so good. Very clear and very loud. Would buy more of these any time

A corolla will not fit on the speaker, but the speaker should fit IN a corolla lol
