It doesn’t just join wood, it can be a total coating for well rotten wood!
So have, now rubbish, circle bow Crittal windows with rotten to the core circle bow exterior wooden cills. Soooo expensive to replace and you try and find a reasonably priced craftsman nowadays…… so as an interim measure, before total replacement, I tried this stuff. OMG my life is transformed. I used it to coat the rotten cills (treating first with wood rot hardener). Mix it a wee bit thicker, paint it on, wait a bit for it to go off, tidy any drips etc (as it sets like concrete) and a wee sand and paint, job watertight and done, for now.Use disposable plastic pint cups, wooden craft sticks for stirring, only add small amounts of water ata time as it thins out fast, let it sit for a few minutes for air to escape. Paint it on, filling holes (put masking tape over deep holes then paint it over the tape). Yes it’s a bodge, BUT it’s a watertight bodge for rain and winter and quite satisfying. I’m in an old rotting 1930s house, poorly maintained over many years. I’m aware of what needs doing, but time and £££ dictate what gets done and what needs a temporary fix. I LOVE THIS STUFF! Wear gloves and prepare to chuck everything out after each use, as it sets rock hard. No smell. Make up in smallish batches. Reseal the lid after each use immediate as it absorbs water and can go off, eventually. You get a feel for the stuff after use. Some YouTube on it.I cannot believe I’ve only just found it, needed it years ago. By all accounts the formula was changed but got rubbish, but now back to the original and TERRIFIC. Don’t cheap out on something that works MANAGER PEOPLE!I don’t work or get paid by these people, I just love how much money this will save me for a few years!

brilliant
Used Casco many years ago as a young apprentice there is nothing to match this glue, I just needed a performance adhesive for an exterior job to make sure there was no problems, brilliant stuff

Doesn't quite do what it says on the tin.
I bought this because it's supposed to be gap-filling, but no matter how thick you mix it, it just runs out of the gap like any other wood glue. I have many year experience of mixing building materials, and you can generally get them to do what you want them to, but I had no luck with this stuff. Yes, it's strong and sets hard, but gap-filling it ain't!

Problem with old stock re. heat / moisture degradation
Check the batch date/number on the bottom of tub. My tub was from 2019 (ordered Jan 21), and had gone bad... was pale in colour, difficult to mix and took an excessive amount of time to go off. After 4 days, it was possible to break the joint apart by hand easily. Spoke to Polyvine, and deduced that it may have been stored too warm (>30 deg C i.e. warm summer). I have ordered fresh stock from Polyvine direct (not easy to control the batch when ordering from Amazon)
