Body Heat

A brilliant film just burning with raw emotion and brilliant twists. This dvd is far better quality than previous versions I’ve seen on tv. Possibly remastered.

Oh this has got it all! Brilliant story, punchy dialogue, fabulous performances from all concerned and an excellent setting. You can feel the sultry, sweaty, oozing heat, with the sultry, sweaty, oozing sexual attraction between the 2 main characters. The wind-chimes that don't signify a fresh, refreshing breeze, but a blast of hot air - the oppressive atmosphere - the odd things that don't add up, but are ignored or explained away, puncturing the plot with uncertainty. And to accompany it all, perhaps the best soundrack of all time. John Barry's velvety jazz score oozes the same sex, uncertainty, danger and oppression as the dialogue and the cast. You couldn't have the one without the other. They didn't release the original soundtrack on LP (as it was in those days!) at the time - God knows why - but undid the error in later years. Don't go for the re-recorded soundtrack; it's horribly orchestral and nowhere near the original performance. If you see this film and love it, you will probably also love the score - so if you do want to get it, make sure it's the original film soundtrack. One to watch again and again.

Not quite as shocking now as it was when it was released but still hits all the right notes for a fun crime thriller. The last 20 minutes or so over explained too much I think, which knocked it down a star but worth watching.Quite a few actors who would go onto bigger things in this movie as well you will likely spot.

1981's Body Heat had all the ingredients to be really quite awful. Turned out to be not so. Star Wars co-writer Lawrence Kasdan' s debut in the directors chair was also to be the curtain raising feature for the movies true star Kathleen Turner. She positively rocks my world as the nasty scheming 'Marty Walker'. William Hurt co-stars as the doomed 'Ned Racine'. Poor Ned falls so madly in love with Maddie, that he even commits to murder on what is supposedly their joint behalf. To be fair, Turners on thus form could seduce those no longer with us. It all somehow feels too smart to labelled an erotic thiller, so only hesitantly will I call it so. The best movie of it's type.

A CLASIC FILM NOIR WITH A LOVELY MISS TURNER PLAYING THE SEDUCTRESS WHO USES HER LOVER IN ORDER TO GET RID OF HER RICH BUT MUCH OLDER HUSBAND! I'M GLAD I FOUND IT FOR MY COLLECTION!

One of the best films ever made.The story, script, filming, acting, cast, music and direction could not be bettered.Kathleen Turner and William Hurt are so perfectly cast you can totally believe the unbelievable.Their voices are worth the rating alone, acting so passionate it's easy to see the motivation William Hurt has to commit murder.The story is great. The script wonderful. Every character is played to perfection, even Mickey Rourke puts in a great performance ( only small part ).The music is sublime but you'd expect that from John Barry.Great ending.

Panoramic views of Florida are a bonus. A good adult movie that explores the narcissistic behaviour of sex and greed mixed with exploitation and lies. You know a regular sort of relationship between a man and a woman.

Lawyer Ned Racine meets Maddy Walker, a married woman and they have an affair. But is she just using him to murder her husband? Probably the best erotic thriller ever made, this 80's film noir is pretty steamy stuff with an excellent and intriguing plot too. Excellent performances from William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Ted Danson (before Cheers), Richard Crenna and Mickey Rourke with lots of twists.

Une très bonne intrigue, Un film magistralement bien joué par les deux acteurs principaux. Il tient en haleine jusqu'au bout. Fabuleux.Kathleen Turner, toujours très grande comédienne, y donne également toute les nuances de la palette de son talent.

Body Heat ist ein sehr guter Film! Kathleen Turner, die eine meiner Lieblingsschauspielerinnen ist, gibt ihr sexy Debut.Die Südstaatenatmosphäre ist sehr gut eingefangen worden, die Musik passt hervorragend zur Handlun (John Barry), was aber das tollste ist, ist die Geschichte ansich. Da will ich natürlich nicht zuviel verraten, aber zu den üblichen 0815-Krimis ist das mal eine Abwechslung.Fünf Sterne für einen Film voller überraschender Wendungen!
