Great durable camera
if you drop it a few million times it still works. it is great for our work environment, we load a lot of semi-trucks here and it has been dropped and still works flawlessly! it takes a lot of abuse from the guys that use it but still keeps ticking just fine! battery life is very good on these cameras, so if you are looking for a long-lasting camera that can take abuse, and that still keeps going - This is the perfect camera and the water resistance is very nice it helps when there is rain we don't have to worry about it getting soaked and not working .

Pretty fair offer for a used camera
Pretty fair offer for a used camera. Even came with 32 GB SD card rather than 16 GB.There are a significant amount of scratches on the view finder screen, still usable. Everything else seems to be functioning. You get what you pay for so if want a new camera, buy new.

Was hoping for better, but it's really good...
First, i have to say...i can't be too hard on the product due to the price. I knew that for the price it wasn't going to blow me away, my Note 8 produces much higher quality images. The main reason i bought this camera is for use on my kayak, there's nothing more terrifying than carrying my pro DSLR and lenses on my kayak with me, those days are now over, and i no longer fear water splashing my camera. I don't high quality images while kayaking, good snapshots are all i am looking for, and getting those snapshots without fear of getting my camera wet. The XP140 really fits the bill here.I will just dive right into this review with the things like most about this camera....First off, it has 20 shooting modes...that's right, 20 ! With SR Auto (Scene Recognition) being my favorite because i just want to grab my camera and shoot without having to dig into the menu. One of the shooting modes is called "ADVANCED FILTER" which gives you 17 more custom filters like fisheye, high key, toy camera, and more, that you choose manually. There's self timers, timelapse modes, movie modes, wireless communication to your phone using the Fuji app. Auto / manual focus, you can change the iso setting. There are many options with this camera, i have been a photographer for many years, so i know my way around camera functions pretty well. But if you're fairly new to cameras, i do suggest reading the manual to become familiar with everything this camera is capable of.The battery life is fantastic, i can shoot stills for 3 or 4 days on a single charge with average use, and turning it off when i am not shooting...video will greatly reduce battery life, along with extreme temps. The things i do not like, but i knew to expect from a camera in this price point.First off, the image quality can be really good, and it can be really bad...it handles bright light as well as a cheaper cell phone...my Galaxy Note 8 shoots higher quality images than this camera. But i didn't buy it for greatness, i bought it to record kayaking fun, and memories on the water with friends. And it does that very well. I like to transfer the images to my phone and edit them with Snapseed before posting them online. The second this is the video, the 4K is really worthless at 15 fps, the 1080p 60 is really good and is what i use.The microphone quality is horrid, it's like the older GoPro cameras inside the water proof cases, you really have to yell at the camera for it pick anything up. The under water video is really good as long as the water is clear, or you're near the surface on a sunny day. There is also no cap for the lens, the lens itself has a protective clear lens over it, but if that becomes scratched there is no way to fix it.It's attractive, light weight, fairly easy to use, very rugged, and water proof !All in all, i am very pleased with this camera, my overall rating is 5 stars...it's hard to beat for the price, but i think some of the features could have been done a little better, especially the microphones, and the 4K 15 makes no sense at all.I also purchased a floaty hand strap for it in case i drop it, and it does float the camera well.(The included images have been post processed to share online, some color and exposure correction, and sharpening has been done) ....i wasn't thinking about doing a review when i shot these, or i would have kept the originals. But it shows what you can achieve with this camera. The included images were all taken during my first outing with the XP140, i like it a lot !

Amazing intro camera for beginners, great waterproof camera for everyone!
I bought this camera for a trip to Maine, and wore it on a padded lanyard the whole time - everywhere. It’s lightweight enough that I didn’t really notice it, and turns on fast enough that with it so handy, I was able to get pictures of birds that had landed nearby before they noticed us and took off again. Bonus points for the separate video and still photo recording buttons too! Great for quickly catching videos of things without needing to go into settings! I’m very much a novice photographer - this is my first camera that doesn’t also make phone calls - but even I was able to take some great photos with this camera. Once I played with some of the settings I was able to use burst mode to catch a perfect crashing wave, flower mode to make a couple shaded wild violets look like a fairy garden, and zoom way in on a sailboat, which kept great detail with the optical zoom! It got splashed a few times with no trouble at all. I didn’t fall in the water so no submersion report thankfully, but I’m sure it’d do fine, the seal on the charging hatch looks pretty rugged. Only “downside” is that many of the settings are in professional camera jargon, so I had to keep looking up what they meant for poor photography novices like me. Bottom line: I’m impressed, and I love it.

Not better than my point and shoot from 1997
I bought it to go on vacation involving many different types of outdoor activities and I didn't want to worry about my DSLR or my phone being damaged by water or mud. Unfortunately this camera is very cumbersome to use. The display is dimm and you can't see when sunny and/or wearing sun glasses. The response to the button is slow/sluggish and the videos are choppy. It has many auto features that distorts the image color, autofocus, etc... I understand that you can change the settings but it not practical when on the go and ready to point and shoot. After a couple of days I gave up and used my cell phone. It is pretty paper weight.

Best field camera
My girlfriend is a biologist and was using her expensive phone for taking field pictures and videos in her kayak. I bought this camera for christmas present and she loved it. High quality image and 4K videos that instantly can be transferred to the phone. Now she doesn't have to worry about breaking her thousand dollar phone when going to field trips. This camera y robust and can be submerge into water. She loves it and is using it.

Spotty picture on first use
The image quality of the first few photos was acceptable. However, on the first day of the true test for in-water use, a spot appeared on all photos. The spot occurred before I used it under water, and is still present at the same location in all photos. It is still under manufacturer warranty and I will return the camera. I intend to update this post regarding how the manufacturer service goes. There is no reason for the pixels to be messed up. I am disappointed, I never feel the need to post a negative review, but in this case, people should know this one consumer's experience.
