New Shooter Finds Perfect Practice Tool!
As a new shooter I was looking for snap caps to allow me to practice loading and dry firing my new 12ga semiauto shotgun. Everything I was seeing was plastic or painted aluminum, neither of which I was comfortable using due to fear of chipping and damaging my gun. Then I found B's Dry Fire Snap Caps. At first I was put off by the price but I figured these are made from materials that are meant to be used in shotguns and should hold up. Then I did some math, and for 9 of bad boys, per shell you're paying about the same as a two pack of the cheap plastic ones. Yeah, it's still more expensive but they are worth it.As a wise tiger once said... "They're Gr-r-reat!" I've been loading and dry firing all day since they have come in and the only wear and tear is my arm from holding my gun and my finger from repeatedly pulling back the charging handle. They weight about the same as real loads and made from the same brass and hulls as well. B's recommends using them over a carpeted surface, and I would add open space. They will get away from you and last thing you want to do it start moving furniture to retrieve them. They only issue I've had so far is they have stopped cycling smoothly and get caught up, but I think that's more due to my arm and finger fatigue than the product themselves. They are showing a minor scuff marks but that would be expected. So far I love this product and will buy other calibers as I buy more firearms. Keep up the good work B's. You've gained a loyal customer.

Sturdy and heavy
Basically a retrofitted plastic shell. Brass and plastic. Paper type block to keep the loose weights in. As accurate as you can get without a real load.

Excellent dummies overall
These are very good, and the weight is right to mimic a 12 gauge shell. The only problem I’ve had is, if you use tight shotshell carriers such as Aridus, then eventually the brass will pull off of the shell, but this is rare. It only happened after about 400 or 500 pulls. I’m ordering more today, so I still think they’re great and the best thing out there.

High quality with just the right feel
I recently acquired a Benelli M4 and am starting to learn how to manipulate shotguns. These dummy rounds, while expensive, are well worth the price. Compared to the cheaper options, the weight (and the distribution of weight) is just like the real shells. It's evident that a lot of thought and engineering went into these. They feed and eject perfectly from my shotgun. I'm also able to load 7+1 into the M4 with no issues.

Very nice but they can get worn down pretty fast
They are very nice, but they got worn down fast from my gun when cycling.I also had one shell in the set that was not filled all the way and had a weight difference along with being able to shake the filler.Once in a while they'll get stuck when cycling in the magazine tube because of the brass being worn down.I never have this issue when firing normally.Mileage may vary depending on the gun you're using.

Excellent (too excellent?)
I bought the 20 gauge snap caps to practice with my 870 Rem. These are the best I've ever seen - so exactly like live ammo that it concerns me. The 12 gauge caps can be had in many colors - the 20 gauge only in yellow, just like all 20 gauge shells. I have been known to make mistakes in my life - though never yet with a gun (knock on wood). I am concerned that a live shell could be mixed in with the snap caps, or vice versa. Any shooter can readily imagine bad scenarios in either case. With a sharpie I have drawn lines in the grooves of one cap as a precaution - if it holds up I will do it with all of them. And I will very carefully keep the dummies separated from live shells. I suggest that these excellent snap caps be offered in a non-standard 20 gauge color for safety's sake. I'd gladly pay the extra cost.
