Quality foam
I purchased this foam to organise my tools in a drawer in my workshop. This has made access to the tools easy as they used to be stored in their cardboard boxes.I looked at Shadow Foams website to see how they recommended cutting the foam, while their method is easy it didn’t give the results I wanted. They recommend cutting around the item and then scooping out the foam inside the cut line. This is ok for cylindrical items like screwdrivers but my tools where mainly rectangular. To get a neat straight sided hole I marked round the tool and then cut all the way through the foam. Once you have the cutout piece you can reduce its height so it exactly supports the tool and the original coloured surface is visible at the bottom of the hole. If like my tools they are of several thicknesses you can cut the cutout piece into sections of different heights. Some items can be difficult to remove from the hole cut in the foam, I cut some finger holes to make removing the item easier. I used a circular punch intended to cut round holes in gasket material. Hitting the punch with a hammer was not very successful so I rotated it while pushing downwards, this worked fine. If you decide to do this I would recommend cutting the finger holes first as trying to cut them afterwards is not easy.Once you start cutting holes in the foam it can become unmanageable. I would recommend when you have cut a hole for a tool and are happy with the result you glue the cut pieces back into the foam sheet. I used CA glue (super glue) which works quite well, once it dries you can continue with the next tool.I have attached some photos to illustrate the results.Shadow Foam is easy to cut with the supplied scalpel or a long bladed craft knife.Very happy with the results achieved and would recommend Shadow Foam.

Great product
This is exactly what we were looking for to line a drawer in a desk to create a charging station for all the tablets in the house. It comes with everything you need to cut the foam. It’s quite tricky to get a flat base, and ours doesn’t look pretty in places, but that’s a question of perseverance and keeping going until you’ve got the level right. With all the devices in at the end of the day, it looks really smart!

Excellent
Very good quality foam. Easy to cut with the provided craft knife. It's very soft, so does distort when you put a socket or tools in, so I advise to cut slightly smaller than the tool. And when it's placed in the foam grips it very well. I used a pen to mark outlines at first but found free handing around the tools with the knife worked the best and was quite quick and easy. I then picked out the foam with large tweezers. One of these cut into thirds fits the Halfords Advanced roll cab exactly. So exactly 3 drawers worth for £25 quid. I will definitely get another do finish the tools box.

Great product, slightly difficult to use.
I just want to start off by saying that Shadow foam is a great product and my 4/5 star review only falls slightly short of a 5 star review due to the ease of use.The foam cuts very easily with the excellent, English blades provided. However, creating accurate cuts, an equal depth is very difficult. Obviously this is down to personal ability, but if you head into the process expecting to create factory style cut outs then you may be slightly disappointed. The complexity of the tool also makes the cutting sometimes more difficult than others, as you’d expect. As for the styling of the product, it looks brilliant once a draw is complete! It takes a little bit of time to organise the tools how you want them, and cut them out. But the effort is worth it for an organised tool draw.As an overall, I’d recommend shadow foam as it a good quality well made product for a very reasonable price, especially considering it includes a knife and 5 blades. The foam comes in a large rectangular sheet which can be used for multiple draws. Personally I feel that £25 (including shipping) is a very reasonable price considering the capability of the product and how it compares to it’s almost none existent competitors.

Makes my tool book look cool
Easy to cut, I used a fine tipped felt pen and the included blades to cut out the shapes I needed. The red and black contrast is great and actually makes you want to put the tools back. Is it a wee bit expensive...well you get what you pay for if you what crisp neat cut outs buy this if not buy pluck out foam from the craft store then after a week realise your mistake then buy this!

Good to start with...
First impressions were very good, but unfortunately this is not good stuff over time. It looked great to start with and even though it is difficult to work, seemed fit for purpose. However, after some time the orange surface has started to degrade and crumble off! Might be fine if using for tools etc., but as I wanted it for optical equipment, it is just not fit for that purpose. The foam itself is also starting to fail. Beware.

Better options avaiable
Really tricky to cut smart edges. I used it for a tool draw and it did work but very fiddly to do. A better way would be to purchase 1 this sheet fir the base and a thicker piece (same thickness as you tools) and cut all the way through the thick piece, then lay one over the other. This way you get a clean bottom (pnar pnar). With this product there is no way to achieve a clean bottom:)

a little tricky at first - but very satisfying!
used this in a Bosch L-Boxx to house 3 sets of spanners and various adaptors. It works really well but you MUST use the provided scalpel to get a good, clean cut.I found I had to change blades after e.g. one spanner set.I must admit, I held off buying this as it is a little pricey - finally took the plunge with a 20% discount, and pleased I did!
