The board is solidly made the markings make it easy to cut at an angle if so desired
There are many negative reviews of this product however they appear to be for a previous version of this cutting board. This cutting board is made of bamboo, not beechwood as stated in the Amazon listing. It's one solid piece, so the problem of the board coming apart as noted in many reviews should no longer be an issue. In addition the markings are "burned in" instead of printed on the board, so it seems less likely that they will wear off which was also a frequent complaint in the negative reviews. The board is solidly made the markings make it easy to cut at an angle if so desired, to easily and exactly cut things into pieces by the inch(provided it's not more than 11 by 7) as well as providing a easy visual reference for different sized dices etc.

Great, unique gift
Exactly as described. Very attractive. Solid piece of wood w visible grains. Markings are clearer on some parts of the board than others. This is due to the natural wood grains. Not sure how durable over time. It has to be carefully cleaned, certainly no soap nor dishwasher to maintain its integrity.Great gift to give that OCD individual in your life :)

Fun and quite practical!
Received this as a gift several years ago and just love it. It appeals to my sense of the absurd. Yes, it's a great conversation piece. However, contrary to some of the reviewers, I do actually use mine very often for making consistently perfect 1/4 inch dice or lovely 1/2 inch slices or whatever. It's so handy that I purchased another to give to an equally obsessive friend.I've subtracted one star because the wood did start to split after just a few uses. Conditioning the board 2-3 times each year seems to have arrested the problem as it hasn't gotten any worse. Sometimes I wish the unit was a larger, but it is large enough for most of my tasks and is lightweight, so easy to use.I definitely recommend this cutting board, but do suggest oiling it before it begins to split. And, of course, hand wash - wood doesn't belong in the dishwasher.

Great gift for the chef in your home
I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas and was not disappointed. Though I had never heard of the brand the build quality is superb. The lines on the cutting board are well defined, and feel like even with heavy use it will stand the test of time. This is a great gift for the aspiring chef, giving you many different angles, cuts, and measurements for the different foundations of cutting techniques.

It seems to be a product much improved based upon previous reviews
The one that I got is a nicely laser etched bamboo laminate that does not seem to be in danger of breaking in half any time soon. As soon as I got it, I applied 4 coats of a finish designed for salad bowls, and that was a good touch for a very nice product. It seems like the manufacturer had listened to previous complaints. The board is smaller than some, so if you are looking for one board to do it all, this might not be the one, but it is a nice addition to a kitchen well stocked with cutting boards.

Quality is Key
I bought the cutting board because I like that it has measurements and shows the different cutting styles (minced, diced, etc), and I was looking for a wooden cutting board. It is very light weight, which I like, but the quality isn't very good. It doesn't feel sturdy and it feels like the wood will start splintering off fairly quickly. Not something you'd wanting happening while working with food. Overall, not a bad cutting board, but I wouldn't recommend.

Great gift for engineer type people
Great for gifts for engineers! I have this as a gift to my engineer brother in law and his wife, who is also an engineer. They love the precision. Only downfall is it is small

incredibly useful?
This is useful chopping food to actual recipe size. I have bought two and gifted a third. However, it is NOT durable and will warp and fall apart if put in the dishwasher or submerged in water. Obviously I think it is still worth having.
