Great for a newbie
This is my second foray into records, the first with one of those ones in the suitcase-looking deal. So I will preface this with saying I don’t know much about records, vinyl, and music in general.I wanted something that would be exciting to play records on, so I would definitely feel motivated to explore further (and make the purchase worth it).I wasn’t expecting much with anything with built-in speakers, having had a lot of audiophiles in my life. I will say however that I was pleasantly surprised with both volume and quality of sound (ie it doesn’t get super fuzzy when loud - that’s the extent of my taste).I’ve played quite a few records so far and I’m really glad I went with this player. I love that you can close the top around the record as it’s playing, I love how easy the controls are, I love the spring-driven arm. It’s also generally a good looking machine. Would definitely recommend to other newbies like myself!

Sound quality is really bad (when used with an external amp)
If you like hearing your music like it’s far off in the distance, or with a very shrill/scratchy overlay, then this is the item for you. When I received the product, I could hear a few things rattling around inside. Not a great sign.Hooked it up to a high end onkyo receiver/amplifier, via the dedicated phono input. As an FYI, no phono pre-amp is necessary for this receiver. And I know the problem isn’t in the receiver- the receiver works very well with my other turntables, w/o a phono pre-amp being utilized. When hooked up to the receiver, it sounds awful- like listening to music through a tunnel. I expected at least a little clarity. The speakers on the unit itself are surprisingly good- so if you’re going to use it as a stand-alone unit, it’s fine. Didn’t test the Bluetooth capability or the recording capability. I couldn’t get past the sound when it’s output via RCA cables. So, for my purposes, it’s a bust and I will be returning the item. It’s too bad- the item is small, looks great, and I really wanted it to work well.I guess you truly do get what you pay for- sometimes a bargain isn’t really a bargain.

Husband approves
Bought for my husbands birthday. He is an avid vynil collector and hobbiest, so I was pretty nervous about purchasing him something for his hobby (which I know nothing about). He said the sound quality isnt great, but it is good. He uses it pretty frequently and thought it was decent for the price.Since he also collects antique record players and restores them, that's a good thing right? I mean at least it doesnt start to catch fire when he tested it, unlike a couple antique radios!

Great sound and great look
Amazing record player already! I’m in love with the vintage look and feel of this record player while also looking modern which adds a nice touch to any room. The sound is great and haven’t faced any problems. The clear dust top comes off just in case you don’t want it on, but I love it! It doesn’t cover all the back but it’s only a little bit so it doesn’t matter to me. I love being able to see the record inside. Definitely recommend this record player for all ages: teens who want to get into records to older folks who want to listen to classics just like back then!

Easy, Fun, And well worth the price.
This is my first record player and I'm pretty enchanted by it upon first use! The sound quality sounds great, Easy to understand and use, A definite must-buy for anyone who's looking to get into this area of music. For other features, I suggest viewing other reviews. If you're just a simple joe like me and want to hear awesome vinyls, Pick this up, No competition!

You get what you pay for.
The playback speed is sluggish and quite annoying. The two speakers are tinny and the playback through my Karden speakers on my I Mac is also tinny. I have to do so much editing with Audacity to correct playback speed and there are no controls on the unit for this. Save yourself the money and spend more on a quality unit. You get what you pay for. I rarely return Amazon products and with the reviews on this showing more that 70% positive I'm thinking I have a defective unit. Either way, it's going back.

Great quality product for the price point.
I had purchased another tabletop record player by Digitnow and returned it due to poor quality.I then took a chance and ordered this Popsky Vintage player and was not disappointed. It is a much better quality built product for just a few more dollars. Especially because it has auto on/off. I wish it had AM/FM radio, but not critical.
