This product got solid reviews as “ good for the money”, but you quickly find out that you pay for quality. I can’t speak on their subscription service beats I did not purchase it. I found this camera to be unreliable as a source of security. Only picked up motion half the time and gave us notifications less that that. It kept saying the my network was slow which was affecting alerts. We upgraded internet to 500 and got worse function. Also, the batttery only lasts about 2 weeks when the alert level is high. “Pairing failed” every time I would try to reconnect after a battery change. Others may have different opinions, but This product was not what we were looking for.

I was excited to hear of the release of this new wireless camerasystem by Kami. I currently use the Kami Indoor camera and it workswonderfully (insert link here). To my surprise, this wire free cameracomes with 2 removable batteries! Not sure why I was assuming thecameras would need to be down for a few hours while things charged up.Which by the way, the battery life has been good so far and it’smounted in a very high traffic area (cars, people, wildlife).Impressive battery life as long as those expectations are in mind.The camera comes with a “base station” for it to pair up with. Thebase station connects to your home network using the supplied Ethernetcable. From there, Kami App on my phone found the base stationimmediately…super easy. While still in the app, press “+” to add aKami wire free camera. It instructs you to install battery, press andhold power button, place camera near the base station…super easyagain!One of the genius things about the mounting system is the use ofmagnets. The camera base is concave shaped and can be mounted usingthe supplied screws. The camera itself is round like an oversizedcapsule. As the camera approaches the base, the magnetic pull isstrong enough to hold it in place. Rotate and get your camera viewingjust right without messing with traditional ball mount andthumbscrews. Well done Kami. There’s an option to flip theorientation of the video in case the camera is mounted upside down aswell.App is easy to use and navigate, quality is great both in low lightand when sun is shining on the lens. Zooming, panning and microphonefeature works great too.There are 2 things that need some improvement though. The BaseStationcomes with a strange 4 foot usb/ethernet/power cable combination.Because of this, the base station has to within 4ft of a power outlet.I'm assuming since the base station has to be connected to the networkrouter, there would be a power outlet nearby. Just use Power overEthernet to keep things standard and include a PoE injector if needed.Even if the system cost $10-15 more, it’s still a GREAT investment.Second thing, the camera needs to be within 65 ft of the base station.A little more range would have been appreciated, but I do have 2 basestations now, so I made it work. Having power extensions and longnetwork cables solved this. But again, having PoE would have made this easier,especially if it's outside.Other than that, this is still a great buy. Highly recommended.

These are good low cost security cameras. Their motion sensing is just ok. You cannot set the area or sensitivity. But they do work. The picture is clear. Night vision is very good. The alert to my phone does not always work. It did not pick up an Amazon delivery guy dropping off a package right in front of it. I do like how small they are. The 2 way communication works well. They do what they are supposed to do most of the time. The cloud connection App is not very good. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. I consider it a medium end security camera for a really good price.

This is a great concept; a small high-quality wireless camera you can run for months on a battery. I’m sold! After deploying it for a few months I can say it lives up to all the specifications except one. Battery Life. The battery life isn’t terrible. It is just not as long as I had hoped. I am using the 6 second clip method and not the continuous cloud offering so maybe I am missing some feature but I doubt it. This product is an offering from Yi and I am a huge fan of the Yi Home camera platform. So I give it 5 stars for everything but battery life.

It took a while to get everything working, Kami service was great, they were able to get my service linked with the cloud. This is a subscription based camera so if your looking for free service don't buy this camera. Picture is clear, cloud service is quick. It comes with 2 batteries that you will change every 2 to 4 weeks depending on useage. I liked this becuse it leaves a clean install. You have a main base station inside the house, it's very small and clean. I have it about 15 feet from the camera. The number one reason I can recommend this is service. As I said there were a few glitches in setting up me free 6 month cloud service at the start, if this was a no name camera I would have had a brick. Kami service worked with me for a couple of days, keeping me updated and now I can say I have a great security camera. I'm sure picture wise most cameras are the same, if your buying for security, buy one you know will work and the service will be there if needed, for the money I'll go with Kami

Easy to set up initially. Battery died after a week, after switching to the spare battery the camera won’t reconnect to the base. Inconvenience to have to change Batteries so often and now the camera is useless because it won’t connect. Got one week out of it.I have several other corded cameras from Yi with no issues. This is my first wireless. Maybe it’s a lemon?

Not as advestized. Never got my free 6 months cloud. And I can't even download the free 6 sec motion detection video! I tried to contact them by phone and they never pick up the phone!
