A story that will always be remembered for being unique
A Story that will always be Remembered for Being Unique This is one of the most intriguing novel that I have read in a very long time and even so, the reader learns countless lessons throughout the novel. Yellowfang’s powerful journey connects with very strong shows of, courage, strength and always never giving up even when it things seem hopeless. The novel shows theses traits by using, descriptive language, highlighting key moments and by showing action when there should be. In the end, we learn that things are not what they appear to be. The story takes place in a fantasy land looks very much lie ours, except for the fact that the point of views in the series of books are of the view of cats, that have for clans that are always at war. And for our character Yellowfang she will have to deal with the fact that you can never have peace when there can be war. Even because of this there is a long time of peace until it is broken.Starting out, Yellowfang finds it really different in the world and the author really tries to describe thing s that are in Yellowfang's point of view. And by doing so it really helps the story out in a positive way. One example of this starts with, “Littlebird, her ginger pelt glowing in the warm light, sat up, giving the other elders an amused glance,”(page 8). In this it is really describing what is around Yellowfang as well as the other cats in the clan. Another example of this that describes something similar starts with, “ Claws of frost clung to Yellowfang's pelt, and she almost asked if they could go back to camp,”(page 60). In this part of the story it is really describing to us that we are in a time that it is very cold outside so the author resides you of this by describing the cold. And by doing so we know for the cuter that the author doesn't have to keep on describing the same thing over and over again. Our hero, Yellowfang from Shadowclan, volunteers, to be a medicine cat even though that will mean that she can not have kits. And even because of this she still does it. Yellowfang’s struggles in the novel are described in action. One piece of evidence says, “ ‘There is a cat coming,’ he meowed, ‘a cat who should never be born, whose life will bring fire and blood to the forest,’”(page 311). In this moment there is a prophecy that is talking about a cat that should not have been born and with Yellowfang being in the middle of this prophecy is a great responsibility. Another piece of evidence say, “ ‘If they go on like that, they will only fuel the rumors that Brokenkit is Foxheart’s,’”(page 341).In this it is very similar because Lionfang is watching another cat that is getting credit for her kit and that is very responsible of Lionfang given the situation that she is in and the reader describes this with action.Near the end of the novel the author is really trying to show that Yellowfang has really changed with never giving and always trying to find the best in life even when that might seem impossible to do at times. The author shows this by expressing key moments. The first example of this starts out with, “ ‘From this moment on,’ Brokenstar’s voice announced, ‘you will be known as Mosspaw,’”(page 451). In this part of the novel it is telling the reader about how Brokenstar is turning kits into apprentices when they are too young. With this it is really hard for Yellowfang to just stand back. Another piece of evidence starts with, “ ‘I must banish you from Shadowclan,’”(page 491). In this part of the novel our hero has just been banished from her clan. And because of this rather important part in this novel the author makes sure to express this key moment in this novel. After reading this amazing book I realized that it showed many great features that I have shown all throughout this review. And we find out in the end that things are not always as they appear to be. The author shows this by, expressing key moment, using descriptive language and by showing action were there should be. This book is a 5 out of 5 stars, an A-, and a double thumbs up with a novel that I will definitely read again.

Amazing Book
Yellowfang's Secret was so fun, especially because Yellowfang was one of my favorite characters in the original series. I love Yellowfang even more after reading this super edition, and I feel so bad for her, too.

Granddaughter loved it, which is all that counts for a five-star review. The materials seem like good quality paperback materials.

Oh, Yellowfang! (Spoiler free Mom's review)
Yellowfang's Secret is right up there with Bluestar's Prophecy in terms of how well-written it is and how much information it adds to the Warriors saga. Those who have read the books know what an integral character Yellowfang is long after the events described in this book, and Yellowfang's Secret explains so much about her and how she got to be the cat Warriors fans know and mostly love.First, this is a fine place to begin reading Warriors books. You will love it if you've already read everything there is to read. It will deepen your understanding of many characters and many events. But you do not have to have read any of those books to understand and enjoy this one.Second, this is a really well-written book. The prose is crisp and remarkably light on cliché. There are a couple of timeline errors and perhaps some instances when I expected one of Yellowfang's secrets to be mentioned and it wasn't. There also seemed to be a couple of recycled plot points, but the character study of Yellowfang more than makes up for any minor quibbles I had.As with all Warriors books, this one is deceptively simple. It completely works on a straightforward anthropomorphic fantasy level. However, there are many deeper elements at play in this book, some of which you might want to discuss with your child. As always, religion plays a huge role, and the cats' beliefs may not gibe with yours. The book also subtly poses the question whether the cats' beliefs are in line with the facts.Yet another issue is raised by the application of the Warrior Code to the facts presented in the book and whether it is the violation of the Code or adherence to the Code that causes the various outcomes. This makes for an excellent opportunity to talk to your kids about laws, justice, fairness, right, and wrong and how those concepts work together. And, there are definite undertones hinting at questions about sexism and biology. Considering that three of the Super Editions ( Warriors Super Edition: Bluestar's Prophecy , Warriors Super Edition: SkyClan's Destiny , and this book) make significant plot points around the interplay of female cats' duties and their desires with regard to mates and kits, I'm thinking that this is intentional.I highly recommend this book for fourth graders on up. The lexile measure is 760L, but it is 501 pages, so it may seem a little daunting for a kid who is just starting to enjoy chapter books. It's a particularly good choice for kids who like the Brian Jacques Redwall books and the Kathryn Lasky series.

!warning! addiction alert! :P XD
Wow. Absolute wow... I couldn't stop reading it. But yes...it is very addictive. Once you start reading it, you can't stop. But there are some wrongly timed points.Comparing this to Tallstar's Revenge...1. In this book, it says Shrewclaw's mentor was Redclaw, but it Tallstars Revenge it says Hareflight is the mentor.2. When Yellowfang had her apprentice Runningnose, Hawkheart had Barkface. But in Tallstars Revenge, Barkface trained around the same time as Tallstar. And when Yellowfang was a warrior apprentice, she battled Tallpaw and his mentor. Why is that?3. Cedarstar announced that SILVERFLAME had given birth to kits just before Talltail left WindClan. (In Tallstar's Revenge.)Good points:1. Foxheart's name really suits her. Fox hearted cat!2. I like the comic bit, where it said Molepelt said Brokenstar had a choice. So surprising!3. I heard Clawface was in the Dark Forest. Why? He doesnt deserve to be there.Otherwise, great book!!! <^_^>rated by LavaXWillow™
