... blue Easyshare C190 when it first came out and love it. I've been using it for six years ...
I bought a blue Easyshare C190 when it first came out and love it. I've been using it for six years or so and have been very pleased with it. It's simple to use, very versatile and takes sharp, colorful pictures. It's still working perfectly but when I saw these C195s for this great price, I decided to buy one as a backup to my C190 and for nostalgic reasons. It's the last genuine Kodak I'll ever have the chance to buy. This C195, like my C190, is an outstanding little point and shoot camera. I've read comments about the software and the fact that there is no more Kodak Gallery. The software is irrelevant. Just insert an SD card into the slot in the battery compartment. After you've taken photos, remove the card and put it in the SD slot of your computer. Then save your photos to your hard drive, a CD or whatever. I then select the photos I want and upload them to my Shutterfly account and order prints. This camera is beautifully designed and constructed. Order a Case Logic case for it, some Amazon Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, an SD card and you'll have a great little traveling companion for many years.

Excellent value
I have nothing but good things to say about this camera. I read some reviews that mentioned blurry photos but that hasn't been my experience. It's easy to use and the quality of the photos is top-notch. Obviously this is not for a serious photographer since you just point and shoot but it's perfect for someone wanting an easy way to take good pictures without having to study up about photography.

WONDERFUL camera, even though I received a defective one this time......
I have 3 of these, but this last purchased unit was defective. It 'looked' new in my packaging. However, when aiming camera at close-up and distant points, it could not auto-focus. The amazing auto-focus abilities of this model are exactly WHY I own so many. Plus the camera recharges it's flash quicker than any other point-and-shoots that I've owned. PLUS, it runs on 2 AA batteries. A BONUS. I love Lithium Ion batteries, don't get me wrong. But... when you want that security of knowing that anywhere you are, under any circumstances you can put in a fresh set of Alkaline or Rechargeable NimH AA cells, these AA battery cameras are the choice.Had I not been an owner of 3 of these cams, I might not have realized this camera was bad. Make a note of that in the other reviews you read, and if you buy one of these.I wish there was an updated camera with the qualities of this model. I've purchased many, Olympus, Samsung, Canon,,... All nice cams, but lacking in the basics that make this a really wonderful camera.By the way, it takes REALLY nice photos. Great tech in their image sensor and support circuitry. They are not being made anymore, so I suppose we need to be careful of refurbs and repacks and defectives more than usual.I'm going to try again to get a properly functioning unit.

Love the fact of easy-to-find AA batteries.
This is my 3 rd Kodak Easyshare camera. Customs in Norway destroyed my first one because of the 9/11 scare stuff and code 8 (?) security warnings,... we almost missed our flight because customs had everyone backed up so far and were going over every piece for danger potential,... it was a nightmare,... but the fault for the camera motor committing suicide was more the fault of the design, than the customs inspectors,... the camera was too easy to accidently turn on, and in their rush, to repack my belongings, the inspector accidently activated the motor and turned the camera on before she shoved it in it's snug bag, and the camera simply burned out it's motor trying to extend the lens inside the tight camera bag.. A later model eliminated this problem. Luckily that trip we had bought my husband a camera to play with and he turned his over to me, to get the best shots,.. otherwise we would have had none of our vacation. The single Biggest thing I Love about this camera is that it uses AA batteries (and this is my reason for having owned 3)No-matter Where we travel, I can change out the spent batteries in seconds, and can FIND AA s Anywhere from Pompeii to Iceland.i.e. I prefer the convenience of AA batteries to 'charging' an in-camera one,.. and losing a charge with more pictures still to take. So as long as I can purchase a camera using easy to find AA batteries, I will continue to do so.

It is easy to use and the pictures are great
I purchased this after the first one I had came up missing. I have had this model since 2012. I got that one for my anniversary gift. I have taken many pictures with this camera and the one I lost. It is easy to use and the pictures are great. The camera looks nice and the color blue is almost like black to look at this.If you are looking for a nice camera that takes good pictures, give this some thought. I am using rechargeable batteries for this camera and all the other ones I have. I have five Kodak cameras and they are great for doing pictures. I am adding some photos to show how good this is, and a couple are with my one that is missing but still the same camera.

EasyShare Software not available...
Do not buy this camera. The camera itself, is a nice little camera - takes good pictures, videos, etc., but when you try to hook it up to your computer to install the EasyShare software, it will fail. I contacted Kodak, and they say that EasyShare is no longer available for download. That's fine if you don't care about using the software, but you cannot get the pictures off the camera with the USB cable. I have to take out the chip and plug it in to my chip reader to get the pictures. Very annoying...

but I like to take pictures of my cats & garden
I am not a photographer, but I like to take pictures of my cats & garden. My previous Kodak Easy Share M381 was a good camera for me, but this C195 is terrible. The pictures are not clear, the color seems a bit off, the operation is not as smooth as it should be, and it goes through the batteries like crazy.
