Just got a GSD at 1yr old.. this book was enlightening on what I need to do to get a well trained and happy canine buddy beside me. easy to read &understand.

I don't know if these other reviewers know the author but the book is not helpful for first time owners. Great, it has history of the breed and how he can be trained to be a service dog. However a simple "this is how you walk your dog" is nowhere to be found. The book is a waste of money and I learned nothing useful from reading it.

Easy read and quick to follow. Good information on positive training basics and basic background knowledge for GSDs.

Text contained an "Ages and Stages" section that was most helpful in training our dogs. Good advice on what commands to train for and step-by-step instructions on how to train them. I advise reading this small book cover to cover before committing to this breed of dog as they are intelligent, resourceful and easily bored!

Book was ok with 10,000 ft view of training. Wanted something more detailed.

Very helpful information and a great reference guide to go back to as needed. I would say this is a must for any first time shepard owner.

Haven't read it all yet. But seems to have lots of information and training in it. I would recommend it to new GSD owners.
