I highly recommend watching a short YouTube video to see the technique in action — it clears up what the included instructions leave out. The printed directions on the back of the packaging could be better written and are missing a couple of steps, so the video was a big help.Performance:The pom-poms come out great — round, dense, and customizable depending on how much yarn you wrap. One tip: make sure to tie them off very tightly before cutting, or they can come apart easily. These work well. I wish there were smaller ones, but the sizes offered are fun sizes. If I knitted beanies, I would totally love the large one; I use that size to make pom poms for my cats to play with.

Granddaughter was thrilled to get these as part of her birthday gift. I use the same set for making pom poms and find they are easy to use and are durable. Love that this package has four different sizes for those "just right" pom poms.

I see possible mistakes beginners could be doing.The instructions are clear-cut, but if you need it clearer:1.) Wrap the string til becomes a HALF CIRCLE. Like in the picture I made. You’re not making a donut, you’re making a ball!2.) When you tie it together, MAKES SURE IT’S TIGHT!!! You plan to keep it together, right? One knot is not is not enough. Wrap and tie it 4 times before doing a double knot. (It’s best if you use wax yarn for the grip. I didn’t do that in the pic and I’ll face the consequences later.)All of these are no-brainers, but some can have problems wrapping their heads around it(pun intended).

Well made! The easiest way to make your own pom-poms. The pom-pom maker opens into two sides that you wind with yarn separately, then fold the two sides together, clip the ends of the loops, tie a piece of yarn tightly around the middle, open the pom-pom maker, trim the pom-pom as needed, and voila! There are instructions inside the packaging. Includes 4 sizes that are probably the most useful ones.

I bought a cheaper set and it was definitely low quality. These are super sturdy and the perfect size for hats and garland.
