I carry a bunch of pens, and got tired of always fishing around in my pants pocket for them (and tired of having them scratch each other's finishes). So I got this. It feels like it will last a long time, but that's partly because of its thickness, which is greater than I expected, making it bulkier than I'd like. The flap in front adds bulk without any real functionality -- I'd be happier if it weren't there.I anticipated being able to use it for five pens, because of the product picture; but it's pretty full with just three. If I just wanted to carry three pens, this would be a clear win. But for $10, I guess I'm okay with it.

Using this “off label” you could say. Using to protect the sharp points and edges of drill bits and small chisels floating around in an old tool box. Worked so well, came back for two more!It holds about three large drill bits (the ones with side flares) or three or four small, pencil-sized chisels.The other nice thing about this protector is the muslin drawstring bag that comes with it. Now you have one more storage item to utilize. For the price and quality, this is overall a pretty good deal.The leather is thick, so expect this to last a long time doing its job. Picked brown leather, which seems to make my beat-up, old, red metal tool box happy.

For the price, the quality and craftmanship is great. That being said, i tried using the item in a button up style work shirt, button up dress shirt, and a jersey material shirt with pocket. It did not fit properly in any of them. It did not reach the bottom of the pocket so the weight of item cause my pockets to bend at lip and "fold" down. The fit is very narrow in the storage area as well. The picture shows pens and mechanicals pencils, but I think this item would be a much better fit for a mechanic or electrician for small tool storage, as only one out of the five pens I tried to fit would clip over the rim as it is very thick.Bottom line; I wouldn't recommend for an office, lab, or clerical type job.

I use it daily for pens & a pencil. The double thickness at the top prevents me from using the claps on pens & the pocket itself it a tight fit without much flexibility. However, I have had plastic ones that soon torn & got holes in the bottom of the pocket. I appreciate how durable this leather on is.

This is a very nice-looking pocket protector. It's too stiff to allow the pens to clip, but they are staying put without being clipped right now. The only issue is that the backing peeled off on one corner, but was quickly fixed with a little glue. It was a good purchase, as it is saving my husband's shirts from ink stains.

seem is sewn too far down so wont stay in pocket of tshirt, great quality of the product for sure and comes in nice packaging, but cant use as leather is so thick you have to use two hands to put pens in or out, plus wont stay in pocket very well,

I know this will last for many years. I only had one issue with this product and that was it is very ridged. I put it in my micro wave for a few seconds to soft it up and then it was fine. I also noted it was not as wide as some so it will fit in my shirt pocket.

This was a gift for a coworker. Looks good. It is stiff although I assume once broken in it will loosen up a little. It is narrow so be aware it may not fit as many pens/pencils as you expect. Overall good purchase and better then plastic ones for sure!

This pouch is fantastic. I use it to store 4 pens that I use daily. The fit is a little tight, so if you want to store multiple big pens, you might have a hard time. Other than that, this is a very nice item. One thing to note is that you might not want to clip your pens like on the picture, since that part of the pouch is very thick and it might break your clip.
