High Quality Just Like Lafuma Chairs
My Lafuma Zero chair is 20 years old. Yes, I took good care of it, never left it outside, but quality shines through. I will always pay for quality like this. The laces took strong hands to pull through. Figuring out WHERE to pull through wasn't difficult. I just removed the old and threaded the new in its place, hole by hole. The thread had to be stretched hard to reach the end hole on the bottom portion. Plenty of thread for the back. The biggest challenge was threading the plastic head through a hole a second time.Threading Tip: If I firmly held the plastic head in the hole entrance and with my other hand, pulled hard on the thread already there, it would pull up the plastic head. Worked every time and was much easier on my hands than trying to push the head through. Ready for another twenty years 🤞Headrest Tip: If the elastic on your headrest has died, just zip tie each side to the frame. There is enough play to slide it a little as needed. No need to repair or replace.

Fits perfectly
Made my old Lafuma brand new. Much better and cheaper than buying a new chair when the old elastic broke.

New life for your Lafuma
We've had Lafuma recliners for years. If you don't know, they are by far the best made floating recliners. Not cheap, but very well made. We've had a pair of Lafumas at a second home for 15 years that still look like new, as we keep them indoors when not in use. But the elastic cords that suspend the nylon seat fabric do wear out eventually. We've replaced the cords on chairs over the years and it is a relatively simple operation, requiring attention to the stinging pattern at the start. Then you are quickly on your way to restrung Lafumas as good as new. The original manufacturer cords are the best bet to restore these well designed and made chairs.

THE WAY TO INSTALL NEW LAFUMA CORDS
I finally had to replace the stretch laces on our Lafuma recliners. We bought them new in 1998 and the cords gave up on vacation this year. The time it took me to do one recliner was about an hour and a half.I ordered the black laces because the blue laces that were in our original recliners were not available. As stated in other reviews DO ONE SIDE AT A TIME SO YOU CAN REFERENCE THE WEAVING PATTERN ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE CHAIR!!For the upper part of the chair start at the lower part of the backrest where there is double lacing and work up to the top of the chair. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO STRETCH THE LACES AND KEEP TENSION ON THE LACES AS YOU WEAVE, OR YOU WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH CORD TO FINISH THE JOB!Also where double lacing is required you will really have to stretch the laces (cord) to be able to get the plastic end piece through the grommet twice.Take a close look at the plastic end piece attached to the cord. You will notice that one side is rounded. When you insert the plastic piece into the grommet to make the double loop, be sure to STRETCH the cord (to make its diameter smaller) and insert the plastic end piece into the grommet so the ROUNDED side matches the inside rounded side of the brass grommet , Otherwise you will never be able to double loop which is required to give the recliner the strength that is required to hold your body weight! As for the bottom portion of the recliner, start at the top where the recliner frame is close to the grommets and double looping is required and difficult to access, and work down to the foot.STRETCH AND HOLD ON EACH LOOP OR YOU WILL RUN OUT OF CORD!My wife is redoing the arm rests with new fabric.M. not as good as originals
my impression is that these replacement elastics are not as good as the originals. my chair is now used only inside and I can tell that the elastics under my seat are starting to wear, tho only about one year old.

Good fit. Easy install.
Got these as a replacement for my RSXA that I bought about a decade ago. As others have stated, it's best to replace one side at a time to make sure you're following the correct lacing pattern. I did not have the issues others stated of not being able to fit the plastic tip through the grommets when having to double up the laces. It's a tight fit, but it fits nonetheless. On my chair, there was only one place wherethe laces had to be doubled anyway (basically where the knee bends). The laces were a good length as well. Once toward the end I realized I didn't have quite enough length, but all I had to do was go back and pull slack from the beginning, one grommet at a time like you would do to your shoe laces. That took a few seconds and was not an issue at all. Installing all 4 laces took less than 10 minutes. One tip I have is to cut the plastic ends off the old laces you are removing so that you can pull the lace out of the grommets much easier.

Easy to install. Did the trick.
I have had this chair for 24 years, and have had to replace the laces before. The last time I tried a set of universal laces, but they were not strong enough to work correctly. I ended up having to get the correct Lafuma laces, and now the chair works like it should. Lesson learned.

Used this cord to restring 2, 20 year old Lafluma chairs. The install was straightforward. Unlike the original, the new cord was single laced (vs double in some places). Not a problem however because the new cord was thicker & quite strong. The length was appropriate. It is a pretty good workout for the fingers but doing both chairs at the same session was OK. Very happy with the results.

Better than original maybe ?
4 separate cords in a very small package... 2 short and 2 long. Both were noticeably shorter than originals from Lafuma even though originals had obviously stretched out. So this concerned me where the there were some double looping through a number of grommets. The new cords seemed thicker and beefier so double looping wasn't required and was difficult to do( being thicker ) as I started off with replicating what was originally done from the factory. NO need for zip ties as described by some reviewers as they must have taken all of the old cords out at the same time. Just do one section at a time to eliminate that requirement. This will provide you a visual reference to replicate. So the new shorter and thicker cords are working out just great without any double looping where there was insufficient length in each cord to do so. My CAMO pattern Lafuma chair now has the support again like new as one should expect. Better to trust the manufacturer to provide you with what will do the job correctly for the small additional cost.

Helpful hint use plastic lock ties, etc.
The replacement laces for RSX-Lafuma RSXA chairs are authentic as they are made in France. The illustration on the package was somewhat small to figure out the lacing pattern. Helpful hints are to use 2 to 4 plastic lock ties around the tubular frame to the grommet of the mesh fabric on both sides of the seat & back to hold the fabric in place. I also doubled up on the lacing on the second last grommet at the back of the seat (both left/right) to strengthen the spot under the sit bones. Take a photo of your existing chair to view the original lacing pattern. All in all, it was easy to install. We’re extremely happy with the results as our 18 year old chairs look new again!
