Working great!
I bought these to place above my deck ceiling fan to keep the mourning doves off. I tried using a decoy owl with a moving head, but even though I moved it around regularly, the birds got used to it eventually and started coming back. These hang down from the ceiling just low enough that the birds won't even try to get on the fan! Apparently, the shiny surface and the twisting movement is just enough to scare them away. I've had these up for 3 weeks, and NO birds!

5+ months in... still super happy!
These discs have been up for 2 weeks, and so while I can't say with certainty that they are going to eliminate the problem, i can definitely see how they have great potential to do so!First off, as others have pointed out, these are beautifully crafted discs... excellent quality that should last many years. Assembling the discs is straightforward but easy enough. Be careful with your fingers... the discs can be sharp on the laser cut edges. I assembled all of mine without gloves without a cut, but you want to be careful anyway.I was concerned about putting up anything that would take away from the look of my red saltbox colonial, so I was pleased with how nice these look, and how they don't draw attention to themselves, but just to their actions - confusing I know. What I mean is that the mere presence of these disks doesn't look out of place. Unlike a bird balloon or a decoy owl that clearly looks like "hey - there is a fake owl on that house", these don't stand out by themselves. However, with the slightest breeze and some sunlight they create a light show of spots flying around and draw attention to their movement. Almost like wind chimes. This is why I think they will totally do the job! They are highly effective at causing distraction during the day, when the woodpeckers come out to play!UPDATE: So it's now been 5 months or so since I installed my first set of discs, and I just bought and added a second set. My bird concern has always been about the woodpeckers who seem to live all around me and who last fall made swiss cheese of my trim boards and barn siding. Because I have a seperate barn and an off-angle garage connected to the house by a screen porch, the original 8 sets didn't quite cover the whole house. On the 20x24' barn I hung one set on each corner and that has worked perfectly. On the house I was only able to easily mount one off my electrical electrical wires (which was where most of the damage occured) and the rest i placed in trees near the corners. This actually seemed to work great, as I check the house all of the time for any new pecking. Despite constantly seeing the woodpeckers flying around the property, and hearing them drumming away on nearby trees, there was no new damage to the house - until last weekend I noticed 2 new peck spots on the back of the garage - the one corner of the house where I had no discs in site. I immediately relocated one from a tree and hung it from a spotlight on that side of the garage - and since then no new damage. I figured since these discs have been so effective it was worth buying another set and really loading up the area. I like having them both on the house, and in the smaller ornamental trees I have because I think it helps keep the woodpeckers not only off the house, but also away from it whereas before they would perch in the trees, then fly over to do some drumming and if startled they'd seek refuge in the nearby trees. Now they have a longer flight to get out to the edge of the property to avoid the discs. Considering what they did to my house in the fall (see photo) and how many woodpeckers are still around and drumming, these discs have without a doubt worked!

Nice and Shiny
The disks appear to be doing the job. Haven't seen bird droppings since I hung them around the porch. Couldn't figure out how to get the adhesive off the disk, but my spouse figured it out and removed the film rather easily. Make sure you read the instructions/follow the illustrations because I kept assembled and then unassembling.

A++++ Absolutely love this product. It worked for me instantly! It's a humane way to keep birds & rats away.
Oh my gosh, what a difference this instantly made in keeping birds (sparrows) away from the food I keep outside on my patio for a feral cat. The birds were treating it as party central and flinging food everywhere, plus my patio steps and furniture were always covered in bird droppings. My dilemma was that I didn't want to stop feeding the cat or hurt the birds. I just wanted to keep them away from the food and keep my place clean. I took a chance on this product because it seemed rather absurd, but I can say that since I put these discs up, not one bird has swooped in or bothered the cat food since. I also have rats that were stealing the cat food (I live in L.A. and it's impossible to get rid of them). So I mounted three of these bird repellent discs to hang right next to the bowl at the food station, and wonder of wonders they seem to also be keeping the rats away! I read some reviews that said the birds wise up to it, but so far it has been two weeks now and they are still working. I like how these look too. Simple and classy. I have a very zen decor and landscape, and the design of these is very pretty as they sway and move in the wind next to my wind chimes. This is an amazing product and a humane way to deal with this issue. I recommend it highly! Thank you for cleaning up my life!

Could use some improvements in design - seems to work some days, but not on other days.
I bought these hoping they would repel the pigeons that seem to want to roost on my deck. Some days I don't see droppings or birds, other days (i think when its mostly cloudy or not sunny) the pigeons will be next to these and i'll see droppings on my deck. These seem to rely on repelling birds with shiny reflective surface when sunlight shines on it.They took a while to put together since you have to assemble everything. Each disc comes covered in a film to protect the shiny surface, but the film is difficult to remove. Additionally, I noticed that the rings that attach to the hooks would not stay on (the metal rings are like keyrings so you have to put the hook at the top on like you put a key on a keyring). After doing that, the ring came off on a few hooks - because there were gaps big enough where the hook attaches to the keyring that the ring just slides right out.The hooks are pre-bent and the shape of the bend is not that great as you can see. It would be better if you could bend it yourself easily - pliers were required to bend these but I gave up after trying one or two because the metal was pretty stiff - I lost two of these on windy days because the hooks are so short and hard to bend- the wind blew them off!I am going to try the plastic pigeon spikes with cable ties which should work since those are proven - birds can't roost on the spikes.
