Excellent for Hams at Home (UPDATE)
First of All, I want to say that this is not a Radio at all. A network device, Yes. The mere fact that it has an external microphone resembling a true RF radio doesn't even qualify it to be called a radio. No pun intended. It is a network device resembling a phone in a Box.Then you ask yourself, Why would you bother buying it?Well I found it interesting and innovating.I must admit I like the simplicity to work it. I mean it is not different than a cell phone from 3-4 years ago. Android 7 with a touch screen. As for the apps.I got rid of that Zello app as I have no use for it. Mostly because it hogs the PTT feature on other apps.As a Ham, I installed 3 apps that I use the most.EcholinkDvswitchPeanutThey all work as intended and this is the reason why I recommend this device to Hams that have some disability that cant get on their vehicles or the HOA don't allow them to have an antenna in their roof.I have only tested using this device using home WiFi and it performs excellent. One caveat, the volume on most applications I used cannot be controlled via the On/Off volume knob.GPS was not even configured as I prefer to not use it.I recommend this device for my Fellow Hams.=========Update=================I tested this device on a Mexican Cell Carrier (TelCel) and it works just fine on a regular prepaid account.Service is good in Tijuana as well as International roaming in USA.

Nice π
This little IP radio is cool. I'm glad I added it to my radio bench.I don't use Zillow, I simply got it for echolink and I love having it, much better then using a phone or laptop. It gives the feeling of using a real RF radio.Because it is an IP radio I had to save the money to buy it, (I'm only allowed to spend so much on radios), but I'm glad I did eventually get it.There is a issue with using the chat box on Echolink because the radio is not meant for texting, however for me it is not something I miss with Echolink, I'm not big into the chatbox, I'd rather use voice.Since I am using it in the ham shack I just hooked it up to my 30amp power supply, this did create an issue with the clock because I turn off the power supply when I shut down my radios. To correct this I bought a wall wart adapter. That problem will not be an issue in a vehicle, but if your adding it to your shack it should be considered when buying. The sound is good on the unit, nice mix of base, good and clear. When I did put echolink on I did have to change the volume knob settings, echolink needs to be set in the volume to media or else the radio adjusts volume for phone calls. How to do it can be found on the echolink web page..

Verison USA may NOT support this device
For two years this unit performed without issues on the Verizon network in Washington State, USA. A recent change to the Verizon network (elimination of the legacy 3G network) may have also affected the ability of this 4G device to connect. Verizon states it is NOT supported, though it worked previously.**Use caution and check prior to affiliating it with Verizon's USA data network. This unit may not work.

Worth the buy but read
The product itself is great and easy to utilize but (there is always a but) the buttons are not programmable, and the instructions are horrible just horrible.Note: the blue wire has to be connected to a ground for the radio to work (not in instructions)Update: 2/07/2020So after utilizing this device for several months and trying different cell carrier's this is what I found.# 1: Only T-Mobile allows you to utilize this device to its full compacity on a 4g network.# 2: AT&T prepaid works on this device but is limited to 3g only.#3: AT&T postpaid (normal account) and Verizon (prenor postpaid) do not work on this device.

Best audio ever
If you operate in digial modes (HAM) you know that some of the modes can sound less than great. This little radio runs, bluedv, dvsm-mobile, echolink, peanut etc... It's basically an Android device in a radio body. People always praise the audio from it. Very easy to get setup and running. Has a decent built in speaker and PTT microphone works with all the software I mentioned above. I have talked with Hams all over the world on this thing, Italy, Japan, England, Ireland, Australia, Germany..everyone says it's crystal clear. If you're on the fence about getting one of these- pull the trigger. I have removed the PTT4U and Zello applications (I don't use them). I couldn't be more happy with a purchase from Amazon.

Glorified Phone with a PTT
The idea of these are pretty cool, however keep in mind a cellphone can basically do everything one of these units can do. The only benefit to the unit is that it adds a PTT and frees up your cellphone so you don't have to drain your cellphone battery.I am a ham and was able to use BlueDV, DVSwitch, and Echolink without much issue. DVSwitch worked really well which gives you access to DStar, DMR, P25, YSF and NXDN. Only major downside is that it requires an internet connection (which is a given) so you need cellphone coverage. I had the radio installed up on my dash of my F150, so it had a clear shot out the window. The connection was very spotty at best, not sure if that was the service or the 4G receiver. I even attempted to just hotspot my phone and attempted to connect in that way. I suppose this could be different for everyone as cell coverage is different.I also had issues with the Google Play Store allowing me to download apps. When I had it in my house it worked without any issue. But when I put it in the truck it stopped working. I contacted support and they tried a few things and then I dealt directly with the seller who tired to have me update the firmware. Unfortunately I never could get Google Play to connect. There is a code you can use to unlock the Google Play Store, it was confirmed that it was unlocked.
