Krieger 1500 Watts Power Inverter 12V to 110V, Modified Sine Wave Car Inverter, Dual 110 Volt AC Outlets, DC to AC Converter with Installation Kit Included - ETL Approved Under UL STD 458

I've been very happy with this product for the past 3 months until 1 hour ago when I was just using a lightbulb and phone charger when the overload noise started happening then a clicking sound, a spark, then a small fire ignited inside the inverter. I turned it off and extinguished the flame but there is still terrible burnt plastic smell inside my rv. I checked all my connections and everything is fine including my solar controller. I haven't turned it back on but I'm planning on disconnecting and reconnecting everything back on tomorrow. Not sure what to do next? Will try to contact customer service for refund or replacement.

Defective out of the box. Total junk. Amazon should remove this seller. I purchased this unit for my RV, as a backup 110v power supply for emergency equipment. I unfortunately waited to test it till after the 30 day amazon deadline for return. After hooking it up to a new, 500 amp12v, fully charged battery, per the instructions, I turned it on and it immediately gave an over voltage alarm, showing 16.5v on its display. Since the new battery was producing only 12.6v (normal), verified by 2 volt meters and the voltage across the battery and the input terminals of the unit was 12.6v that shouldn't be possible. I called their tech support, told them all this and their suggestion was try another battery, which I did to humor them. Exactly the same result.They offered to have me ship it back, at my expense, for examination and repair, only if they could reproduce the problem. Otherwise they would return, it as. is also at my expense. I have decided to avoid the return shipping expense, hassle and delays. Chalk It up as an expensive lesson to avoid companies like this that already have other bad reviews.In going back over the reviews after the fact, I find their are numerous reports of defects and failures. So save your time and money. Don't waste it on products from this company. I would further recommend that you immediately examine and bench test anything like this, from Amazon, within the 30 days to avoid losing your money or having to deal with a supplier like Krieger.

This is hands down the best inverter for the money! The reason I didn't give a five or even six star is for two reasons; 1, The display is very bright. 2, Its not Pure Sin wave. So its not the absolute best on the market. But it plays with others nice enough to be a perfectly good alternative!First off, customer service is awesome! I did a-lot of research before purchasing the inverter. My daughter wanted to have her wedding at our family favorite campsite. She was going to need power for sound and lighting. We thought we would use a generator. But with some research I found that even a ultra quiet generator would be way too loud! I didnt have fifteen hundred, plus bucks to spend on a halfway decent Sin wave. To make the story short. She had a beautiful wedding! I hooked up four deep cycle batteries(frm Walmart) in parallel(see pic) to the Krieger 1500. We were able to run: three 150watt equivalent LED flood lights, three strands of christmas lights, two pro-audio powered speakers, a laptop, and charge a phone, ALL NIGHT LONG!

This is the second time I've used this product and am completely satisfied with the quality and operation of the 1500w inverter. The value is outstanding and the support is refreshingly complete. These units always operate for me and especially in the harsh conditions of the AZ desert and high country. I had an "operator error" with the second unit I purchased and Krieger reps not only offered to repair it under warranty but actually replaced the entire unit with a new one. No questions asked. Can't say enough about the service.

I cannot even begin to say enough about this vendor. absolutely wonderful!!! I ordered this model for my family in Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria, and I wrote to them to see what the delay was in the shipment was. when I explained what my rush was, they were on back order and immediately upgraded my order to 2000 at no extra cost and shipped right away. my family is currently running their refrigerator off of it without a problem. this is my 4th inverter I've had to buy and I wish I had discovered this one earlier on, the cables that are needed for max output can run between $30-$45 each set depending on watt this one already brings the heavy duty gage cables so no additional expenses. definitely worth the money.

Excellent inverter handles everything I need it to do in my rig. I installed it in a sleeper cabinet it's exceptionally quiet. I wear a cpap at night and my old inverter was louder than my machine. This inverters fan is completely silent. Quality construction easy to install really like the remote on off switch. It's illuminated so when exiting my truck I can see that I've left the inverter on and I'm able to shut it off without getting back into the truck.

Worked exactly how we expected it to work. We are a non-profit animal rescue doing an outside event where there was no electricity available. We wanted someway to create a display for our adoptable cats and our best equipment was to create a power point slide show and put it on our 32" screen television. We were able to hook up the Krieger Power Inverter to our Marine Deep Cycle battery,then the surge protector (we mounted the inverter on top of the box) and put the battery and everything underneath the table, plugged in the tv and voila! We had what we needed to provide power to our booth.

Scared me at first when I flipped the on/ off switch, saw the lights flash and then nothing. Found the power switch and it’s OK (Who reads instructions when you get a new toy! :-) Tried my electric chainsaw and 600 watt fridg and all good. Won’t run my small compressor but that’s what the generator is for. Great mobile power. Thanks to previous reviews with pics, I got a good idea how to hook it up to hand truck.While I don’t look forward to hurricanes/ power outages in SWFL, glad I have another power resource.

I got it on september 2017 it lasted 2 months i started getting static noise untill it gave up, i bought because warranty was available in montreal at their center. Great warranty they exchange new after 1 day. Im using inverter alot. I didnt use it since i got it, im using mastercarft canadian tire brand 3000w. In overall i think If you use it not often its ok once you start using it alot they start to break.

Very good quality, not worth buying a cheap inverter that eventually fails. Fan only starts when it heats up. Very quiet. Looks good.Update after 15 months: Failed but was taken care by Krieger.
