This is now one of my most used favourite buys. A secret weapon in achieving that sear. Beats my cast iron pan. I use it for not too thick steaks, skewers, and after sous vide. It heats up super quick. Two settings, one to sear and one to drop the heat to cook without burning. Lean steaks no flare ups. Fattier cuts may cause flare ups, but can be controlled with adding a bit of water into the drip pan below. Good vetalation as ther can be smoke.Easy to soak and wash. A real game changer for achieving that maillard sear. 10/10.

Very poor instructions and no warning of 6" flames leaping off it when grilling a steak with a reasonable amount of fat in it.

I had a previous severin grill that was great.This one is very small and low, so it smokes a lot.

I must admit I was quite impressed with this when it arrived as I'd expected something a bit flimsy and not up to the job. My sister soon proved me wrong; she is a far better cook than I, so she was invited over for dinner – then had to cook her own!There are two heat settings, and it's actually very easy to use: use the higher setting to sear the meat for a couple minutes each side, then turn to the lower setting to finish cooking to personal preference. It's like an easy no-fuss type of barbecue really, but can be used indoors.We're going to try it with veggies – as I'm a vegetarian – and see how it does. Will update as soon as possible.Cleaning is also easier than expected – just unplug and allow it to cool down completely before.

This electric grill is a very good and much more easy alternative to classic barbecue . Just plugged in turn of the button to the desire level (1 or 2) . U don't have to use any oil , the food cooked very nicely and was just perfect ! It easy to clean also , me personally I scrub it a bit with an normal sponge then popped straight in the dishwasher!

Very easy to use, two power settings - use the highest to sear the meat and then the other to grill to your desired type of steak, my biggest concern was the cleaning of the machine, but it comes apart fairly easily to clean. Do make sure you let it fully cool or you could end up seriously hurting yourself. Depending on the kind of steak you cook but fattier pieces could mean slight flames so use away from flammable things. A nice indoor alternative to a BBQ and gives you a nice juicy steak.

This is a serious piece of kit and the results are amazing compared to a pan-cooked steak. The method is to sear the Steak using the highest setting basically 2-3 minutes either side and then cook on the lowest setting to obtain the desired rare, medium or well-done steak. Searing the steak ensures all those lovely juices remain throughout the cooking process to give that perfect result. The cleaning process worried me at first but the product comes apart easily for cleaning. Any meat juices dripping on to the heating element are carbonised due to the extreme heat so very easily removed. Please unplug and allow for this high-performance grill to fully cool down before attempting to dismantle for cleaning purposes. The only issue I had was when some meat juices ignited causing 7-8 inch flames but no real problem just don't lean over this whilst cooking and cook well away from anything that's likely to catch fire. This is an excellent piece of kit that can be used very much for everything barbecue related. You could easily run an appropriately rated power extension and cook outside during those summer months. This made me feel like King of the Barbecue I just need to buy me the Chef's hat now. I highly recommend.

Compact but with excellent ratio between useable grill area and overall size. Very easy to clean. Reaches high temperatures giving steaks a good taste, personally prefer it to coal grill aroma. We have still to figure out the optimal times on each temperature levels but even for the first time use very very impressive results. I would not use indoors but would not hesitate to use in a well ventilated conservatory or on a balcony.Lead length good and came with UK plug - from the pictures I was expecting to use an adaptor. Excellent!
