Professional way to finish air lines

I used the wrong crimped on the wrong hose…still worked.
I used on pneumatic hose for 1/4” barb. A little big for the hose. Only crimp tool dies I had were for hex wire (not as many crimp faces as hose dies).Working fine so far. Decently hefty ferrules so they seem to crimp well.
