Very Nice for the $$
This is my second Seiko watch in my lifetime. The first I lost forty years ago to the bottom of a creek during a canoeing trip. Since then, I've owned a countless number of Timex's (nothing wrong with them), but the only dressy time watches they make have elastic bands, which pull on arm hair, or leather straps which I don't really care for. I also owned an Elgin, but it eats through batteries almost as fast as I can put them in.I kept looking at the Seiko's on Amazon and was drawn to this one for its simplicity and its nice appearance. I also like the fact it has luminous hands. But the biggest feature I was interested in was the solar charge feature. No more batteries to replace for a while. When I received the watch, almost immediately after I removed it from the box, the second hand was off to the races. It was simple to set the month, day, & time and afterwards, I left it under my bright lamp to charge the battery. So far, it keeps excellent time and hasn't varied off my cell phone tower's time any at all.The biggest challenge I had was removing the links from the band to fit my wrist, but with the proper tools it isn't too difficult. I do like the fold-over clasp band because it doesn't pull the hair on my arms at all.Very nice watch for the price. I look forward to having it for many years to come. I just won't take it on any canoe trips!

Buy it - you won't be disappointed. Five stars!
Seiko Men's SNE032 Two-Tone Stainless Steel Solar Watch - I've had my Seiko watch about two months and I love it. This is my first solar watch, so I was a bit skeptical as to how long it would take to charge it and how long it would continue to run without sunlight or a light source to charge it. I held a flashlight to it for two minutes and it began ticking. I wore it for two days, held a flashlight to it four times x 2 minutes, then took it off and left it in the dark for two weeks. After two weeks, it was still ticking and the time was right-on. Now that I trust the solar battery, I wear it 24/7. I'm not afraid of getting it wet and often dip it in the water for a short time when cleaning the pool. Looks as nice as the more expensive competitors, at a lower price. Buy it - you won't be disappointed. I'm happy with my Seiko. Five stars!

Classy-looking watch and I love the solar charging feature
I decided to get this watch to put in my rotation since I've been wearing the same Seiko "railroad approved" solar model on my wrist every day for six months and love it. But sometimes a change is nice.I like the two tone look and the plain, classic design of the watch. One aspect of the watch that isn't evident from the pictures is that it seems to have very, very fine radial lines that radiate from the center to the outside of the face. You can't really see them normally, but when the light strikes the face at a certain angle they're subtly visible and create small highlights directly across the face from each other (for example at 8 and 2 positions). This was an unexpected, subtle detail I liked. So far the timekeeping is very accurate which its what I would expect from a Seiko.I'm surprised that other reviewers would buy this watch and then complain that the style is not fancy or bling-y enough for them. Did they not look at the pictures and compare to the many other watches they could order from Amazon and other outlets? There are plenty of bling-y options out there, and Seiko as a brand often tends toward the more conservative and understated styles. Seiko could probably get a little more adventurous with the styles sold in the US, but the watch is as it appears in the pictures.Personally, I like the styling and don't need a watch that calls too much attention to itself and still looks classy.

Worked well... until it didn't
I was very satisfied but after less than six years it started to randomly stop even though it had ample exposure to direct sunlight. I never get the " second hand low charge warning" so there must be something else wrong with the watch.

Smaller, basic, sharp, no battery needed!
I have thin wrists, so the current trend of big, huge watch faces is not for me. This face is smaller. It majors in simple: second hand, lines instead of numbers, day of the week, number of the month, one button on the side. Sharp and simple. Also, it’s solar, constantly taking in light through the watch face (don’t ask me how—just watchmaker magic). If it gets 9 hours of sunlight, that charge lasts 10 months! Something like that, at least. I’m not looking at the manual right now. All that to say, you’ll never have this stop on you unless you work night shifts and your work environment is in the dark. In that case (ha!), set it in a window sill one day, and you’ve got 10 months of charge. It charges on artificial, indoor light, too, just at a slower rate.

I love this watch, 4 years later
This is my favorite watch (model SNE032), and I have and have had several. I've had it 4 years now. Because it is solar (light-powered) I never have to worry about wearing it periodically to keep it going (as I do on the other Seiko that I have and also like, (SKA366 Kinetic Black Ion watch). This watch (silver and gold) is lighter than the black one, and more comfortable, just the right weight for me. (I have a lighter watch and prefer this weight as more "substantial".) Neither watch is "smart" and does not know how many days are in a month, so does need adjustment of the date on months with less than 31 days. I like the band and clasp a lot. Neither have shown wear, but I wear the watch to an office job and not out in the yard for everyday use. I highly recommend this watch. The gold and stainless (sliver) look great together and if you like the looks of this watch I'm sure you will like it.
