Seriously sharp and useful knife; highly recommend!
I love this brand of knives! I have 6 different types, as well as the pie/cake cutters, can opener, and peeler! I seriously love how well-made Kuhn Rikon products are (and I love that they all come in red!).I originally bought my first knife based on reviews of how well they cut EVERYTHING! And it's true, they work really well. I have some very expensive knives in my collection, and these work just as well. And they are red (I love having red in my kitchen!). I've used this knife on nearly everything I have to cut in the kitchen, and have been happy with the results. The size makes it really convenient to use with most things in the kitchen. My first knife I've had for nearly 6 years, and it is still working amazingly well. I would probably say it's starting to dull a little bit, but I use that knife a lot, so that's not really a surprise. For example, I used to be able to gently set the blade on a tomato, and it would start slicing through like a hot knife on butter--now, I have to apply a little pressure for it to start cutting through the tomato. So really, they still work really well after all this time. I'm slowly starting to replace my other knives with these... the only thing slowing my full replacement is that not all the knives I want are in red yet (no matter, I'll just wait :) ).If you are looking for a sharp, stylish knife that won't break the bank, please look into this knife, and others that are in the Kuhn Rikon inventory. I haven't been disappointed by one yet.

Kuhn Rikon Knives- well made, great price, easy to clean
I absolutely love these Kuhn Rikon knifes, and I have been using them for several years. I have also bought these as gifts, and each time they are well received. These knives are well made and have a nice weight to them, plus have a great price point. One of the things I love about these knives is that I can put them in the dishwasher, which is so convenient. I have more expensive knives, but since I can put these in the dishwasher, I rarely reach for my more expensive knives. My oldest knife is about 5 years old, and I just "retired" it. The knife is still sharp, but I have the red color and the colored coating is peeling off. I think this is my fault, being careless when I place it with other utensils in the dishwasher. However, for the price- and convenience of dishwashing- I do not mind replacing every few years.

Decent Knife
After a few months of use I have to say that this knife is nice for the price. I don't know what steel it is made of, but it comes to you very sharp. My issue with it is that it dulls quickly. It also sharpens easily with a sharpening steel, but I shouldn't have to do that before every use with a lightly used kitchen knife. The handle is a hard plastic. I would prefer at least a textured plastic, ideally a soft rubber grip would be best.

Sharpest kitchen knife ever. Excellent!
Kuhn Rikon knives are extremely sharp. This chef knife is razor sharp. It's excellent for day-to-day cooking use when slicing meat, veggies, fish, etc. The blade is thick enough and not flimsy. It stays sharp for months or even a year of daily use. It's easy to resharpen with a sharpening steel if necessary. If you value your kitchen knives this is the one to keep. I bought four of these. I wish they make them bigger so I can fillet bigger fish or slice through bigger fruits. This knife is an excellent investment. I highly recommend it.

best choice for a real chef
best. I bought these cheap knives along with a decent electric sharpener, the Chef's Choice 110. I don't see the point of buying expensive knives and then worrying about them. These go in the dishwasher, and they get re-sharpened easily. I cook a lot. I need to always have sharp knives. Also, having a parade of kids and guests, I don't want anything that I'm afraid of being damaged. My time is too valuable to baby an expensive knife. this knife plus a paring knife plus a peeler is all I need, but I have multiples of them so that I can just toss them in the dishwasher.

Very sharp for the price
Sharp reliable chef's knife considering the price-point! I've had this knife for quiet a while now, occasionally remembering to sharpen it hear and there, and it has kept up its sharp edge pretty well. Attractive solid black color, effective nonstick coating, lightweight and comfortable to use. Though it is recommended to handwash, I often lazily throw in the dishwasher and its held up very well with time regardless!

I own 5 other Kuhn Rikon knives and am a big fan of them. This quality of this knife is similar. However they re-designed the jacket. It has a narrower insertion point and I've actually cut myself twice putting it away. These are very sharp, pointed knives so these weren't small knocks but fairly large cuts. If you plan to use this knife, throw away the jacket as it's a hazard.
