John Deere 42" Complete Mower Deck AUC13429

I received the Item, and it didn't run late.

I was happy to get the new deck for my D130 mower - quick shipment, a little pricey, but a lot cheaper than a new mower. My problem was that the spring at the end of the engagement cable doesn't have a hook, but has that 'L' or 'Z' shaped end that fit into a hole on the bar holding the tensioner pulley. The hole in the bar on my old deck was round and I never had a problem with that 'L' end slipping out of the hole - it held for 12 years. The hole in the bar on the new deck, however, is oval, so it doesn't hold the 'L' at all. I did a little redneck engineering and stuck a 3" neodymium bar magnet under the bar, closing of most of the oval hole, and giving something for the 'L' to catch on, and that works for now. I will probably have to get a new engagement cable that has a hook on the end of the spring sometime soon.

It installed pretty easily, I did it in an afternoon. The package was missing one nut, which I replaced with one from the old deck. The one of the pair that did arrive was rolling around in the box. There was a hole in the plastic bag with the hardware and I expect that the nuts got out through the hole and one of them found its way out of the box (which was not taped shut--I think it's how John Deere packaged it).The unit was delivered really quickly. As other people have noted, there is no longer an adjustable connection for the blade-engagement cable. I bought a replacement cable just in case, but in my case the old cable seems to work well enough for us. It's early in the season so I just ran it over some leaves in a rough-ish part of our yard, and it worked. I only gave it 3 stars for value because it's a lot of money, but I gave it as many as 3 stars for value because it is a good savings over having it done at a dealership or just replacing my 10+ year old mower.

My LA105 is about 14 years old and it still runs great, I do yearly maintenance on it, but the mower deck has taken a beating over the years. I rebuilt it a couple of years ago (all new parts) but there was still a lot of vibration and lawn gouging. I had looked at replacing the whole deck then but it was kind of expensive. This year after my first cutting I decided to take another look at the complete mower deck. They were a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than I remembered.I had removed the old deck several times so replacing it with the new one was easy. I wish I had done it sooner, makes my old lawn mower feel like a new one, smooth, and even cuts. It was well worth it.

Way better than original deck. Built strong and looks great. Didn't have to buy a new rider. Saved a lot of money with this deck upgrade.

Bought this deck to replace the original deck on my John Deere lawn tractor after original developed several cracks around the spindles. The new deck was install ready and hooked up with no problems an works just like the original. Shipping was fast and there was no problem setting up a delivery time.

Did not see a review of the fit for a LA110.Fits as original and just needed to adjust the height once installed. Did not used mounting brackets that came with it as originals were in good shape.Good shipping. Thanks.

My L110 was manufactured in 2003, so after 18 years of service I finally broke the mower bed in two parts. I took a chance with this unit, and it appears to be new old stock, with all the bolts and belts needed to connect it right up to the tractor itself. Some adjustment to the bed height will be required, but otherwise it went together with no problems. The only difficulty I ran into was with shipping as the shipper XPO had difficulty finding me, but with a few phone calls we resolved that issue as well.
