Excellent sling
Well I am no expert on slings, but I suffered a broken shoulder two weeks ago and I have learned a few things since. I was discharged from the ER with a sling. The nurse candidly noted that it was not a very good one and I could buy a better one. So when I got home I started my Amazon research.I read reviews and this one stood out, primarily because it did not dig into the neck. The one I got from the ER was instantly annoying my neck.I was hesitant to buy it because some reviews noted that it was complicated to put on and that you would need assistance, and I am 74 years old. But other reviews included some very helpful videos so I thought I could manage it myself. I was not going to get help from home with this due to my husband’s own health issues. So, first, I got it the very next day. Fantastic! Within about 24 hours of getting home from the ER with the crappy sling I had my new sling. Thanks to the helpful videos, I was able to put it on myself without any big problem. It was instantly more comfortable than the ER sling. It is padded and soothing. The cradle portion for the elbow extends far up the arm and has a warming and swaddling effect. The one from the ER (and a mesh I bought for showering but did not like ) felt like they cut into the back of my upper arm (as well as my neck)This sling has an extra strap that hangs down your back when you put the primary (nicely padded) strap over your shoulder. If you make sure not to get it tangled, you reach back with your good arm and grab it and wrap it around your waist/rib area in front and attach it to the sling with the Velcro tip. It holds your arm against your body which aids with immobilization and also has a swaddling effect. I loosen it for sleep. It has been two weeks now and I’m so glad I got this. My last x ray showed no movement of the fracture so it’s doing its primary job of immobilizing the bone so it can heal. There is a small strap that goes over your arm near the elbow that keeps it cradled and an adjustable wrist strap that raises or lowers your hand to a position where you are comfortable. Pulling down in the back strap before you fasten it also affects how high your wrist sits against your bodyThe Velcro closures on the straps can be a bit of a nuisance and attach to stuff where you don’t want them to attach but it’s pretty easy to get the hang of sticking them to a part of the sling so that they are out if your way til you are ready to fasten them where you want them. All in all I’m so pleased with this sling. I’m enduring my first broken bone and I think this sling has made a difficult situation a bit more livable.Update from newest X Ray on June 3. No movement of the fracture. So the sling is definitely doing its job.Update as of six weeks from injury: My latest X ray showed no movement of the fracture so this sling did its job and I was advised to stop wearing it (and move on to more intensive PT). In retrospect, getting a sling that kept my minimally displaced fractured shoulder stable probably made this about the most important to-wear item I have ever bought. Thanks to Amazon for making this sling available and for providing space for all of the reviews for this and other similar products to help with what turned out to be an important decision that had to be made under the less than ideal shopping conditions of pain, trauma and no opportunities for try on rooms and easy comparisons

Works well once adjusted and you figure it out.
I am 5’ 11, 185. Just had rotator cuff surgery, so I am required to wear a sling 6-8 weeks. The basic one from the hospital is uncomfortable, mainly because it cuts across the back of your neck. This sling has interesting features that prevent many downsides to basic sling. First, the weight of your arm is born by you off side shoulder, with a flat even pull straight downward. Much more comfortable than across your neck and body. Second is the mesh, which breaths nicely and over all the quality is well built and comfortable. Last it works well, especially with the forearm tab that keep your arm down and stable in the back of the sling. Its design is a little confusing and the directions are of little help, but here are some pointers. I have the XL and L versions. The XL is a little too big and the L is a little tight. For giving you the best support, protection, etc. the smaller size is better, as it cradles your arm more tightly, keeping it more immobilized. You will get the hang of it. For right arm support, The long strap in the back wraps around your left side and Velcro attaches to the front of the sling about where you wrist is.

Perfect once assembled!
I have pain in shoulder/back/arm for unknown reasons. It was suggested I wear an arm brace but the one provided by Urgent Care placed too much weight on neck and was extremely uncomfortable. Based off measurements provided, I originally purchased the XL. The length from band to elbow sleeve was too long creating tension in the muscles of my elbow. Sadly, you are unable to adjust the length nor can you finagle the strap to make it shorter. So purchased the Large instead which is pretty much correct length. This brace is extremely comfortable and puts no weight on the area causing me pain. For being the breathable version, it can still feel warm at times but also hottest part of summer. My biggest con (and why I am giving it 4 stars) is assembling the brace. The instructions can be confusing and the video provided from QR code is too fast yet there is no way to skip back/forward by 10 seconds which made it frustrating. It probably took me 30 mins to figure out how to switch to left side and put it on correctly.Even with frustration of the instructions I love this brace and have no regrets purchasing it.

Go to for comfort. Can get warm.
Four weeks into a broken arm (humerus) and this sling has been a great help through my healing process. The sling is built well and highly adjustable with the high quality velcro bits. It is much more supportive and comfortable compared to the standard sling any US hospital will issue you. Highly recommend for use during the day, especially if you are being active outside or traveling. The sling will make your arm hot in warmer climates. The material the sling is made out of is thicker and more durable, at the expense of retaining heat and less ventilation. Good to sleep in if you are kept cool enough.
