I was looking for a strong spade shovel that had a nice lip on the top to use my foot to push in the ground. Also wanted a D-grip handle. I couldn't find one at a local store. They were always missing a feature I wanted. I hate to buy site unseen as I kinda expected this to be flimsy as the price was low, but it is a solid spade shovel that exceeded my expectations. Although I gave this five stars on "light weight" it isn't light as if it were it would be flimsy. It is a solid, nicely balanced spade shovel. I expect it will last a long time as I have already been beating it up for over a month now.

I. love this shovel. I agonized zed over which shovel brand I should buy and I finally made my decision based on the video ooyman provided. The shovel cuts through the ground like a hot knife through butter!!Perfectly weighted,the blade is super sharp and th handle fits your habnd perfectly.I'm a Hooyman fan for life!

This is a great, strong, shovel. My disappointment is: It did not have the sharp edge that would cut through roots as described. I had to have it sharpened.

Extremely happy with this. Seems built for a lifetime of use. I was expecting Chinese garbage.
