Q: My slats are 16" off the floor ... how tall can these adjust to?

If you are using a standard bed frame with wheel sockets; these will mount in the sockets and fully extended will give you apron. 9” of under bed clearance...Hope this helps

I just measured an extra one I had left over, 1 1/2 inch.

Q: I want to mount these on wood. What size does the hole for the insert need to be?

The black threaded plastic insert needs a 1/2 inch hole.
