Fantastic & Fun
This was so fun. What happens is you place the ribbon in the machine and a bobbin attaches to a wheel that unravels the string that holds the ribbon together giving it a hair like effect. The plastic bobbin came off of several of the ribbons and can not be replaced however all you need do is continue pulling on the loose string (like a loose string on a seam that keeps pulling and pulling) and your ribbon is good to go. Someone mentioned in a previous review that without the plastic piece you’re left with a useless bit of ribbon but that isn’t the case. We made many hair “extensions” and had a great time. You can use the markers to create designs. Very much recommend. Totally safe product, no blades as it’s not shredding, it’s unraveling. 5 & 6 were able to do their own without help.

For Older Kids
This is definitely for an older kid. Got it for a 7 year old and she opened it up without an adult and it was hard to figure everything out after the mess she made and probably lost parts

Daughter loves this
This was a gift for my 9 yr old daughter. She absolutely loves this. She had no problems setting everything up and styling her own hair. She loves to do her friends hair as well. This is a must have for any lil girl who loves to style their hair.

Doesn’t really curl
I liked it and it was a wonderful. My daughter loves it but the curler didn’t work on the strands of hair which made her sad.

Not worth it. Disappointing!
I’m really surprised about all the great reviews. This kit is a huge waste of $ and a let down for kids. Several of the extensions broke halfway through the machine process... and the curling methods take TWO HOURS to dry. What!? My daughter was so excited to curl her extensions and then quickly lost interest when we realized the process. Instructions are overly complicated for what should be a simple kit.
