Paw Patrol Marshall Robotic Build-A-Bot Toy: Ages 4+ for Boys & Girls - Ideal Easter Gift!

Overall this party is super fun and a great learning experience. It's similar to Legos where you need to read the instructions, look for pieces and figure out how to assemble correctly.My only con for this product is the age range. My son is five almost six and there's no way he would have sat and put this together by himself without giving up. The age range starting at 3 is very misleading. I have twins that are almost 3 and I don't think they would ever sit still long enough to put this together.So keep in mind that this is very much a parent-guided toy/project. If you expect that then there should be no issues. :)

My nephew loves paw patrol. He also loves putting things together. This was his birthday present. He’s four and could barely wait for the party to be over, so he and his dad could build his new pet. Once put together, it barks and moves, and says some of the dog’s key phrases.

After you spend an inordinate amount of time building it, you’ll want to throw it in the trash. I’m surprised this is still being sold and that Paw Patrol allows their name on this junk.

Update: Some time has passed and the seller has contacted me, and has been great. My original review is below, but I'm changing my rating to be based on an objective opinion, as if the products had all the correct pieces.*I think it's also worth mentioning that toys can be judged on1. How well deliver on their promise of what the toy is, AND2. What the emotional/memory experience value is.Regarding Issue 1. This toy is a high 4 to almost 5 out of 5. It is extremely easy, but not over simplified, due to excellent instructions. As I mentioned in my original post, my boys are 2( now 3) and 4 and the 4 year old was able to do most of it with simple coaching from me. The instructions also had fun facts that were great and informative. Also, there is tons of stickers to personalize them. *Funny note: the kiddos were adamant regarding their dislike of the eye brow stickers:P The only knock is how they really just kind of awkwardly try to slide.For grading point 2. The excitement level and joy of doing this with the boys was definitely a 5. The let down on the wrong pieces was a tough pill to swallow.Original: Honestly, this was fun for my boys (2 & 4), until it wasn't. They were very excited when they received these. Oldest received marshall and chase for the little dude. We were putting them together (great instructions, easy to assemble). However, on of the last steps is to put the head together. I was trying to let them do as much on their own as they could. Then my oldest said, "Dad, it's not working." When I looked at it, they had shipped two right sides of the head. So, it could not be completed, and all that excitement and effort turned into confusion and sadness. Now, I'm dealing with a crying son (and he has legitimate reason for crying) on Christmas. My emotions went from heart broken for my kid, to pretty upset with the toy maker. To calm, because as a single divorced dad, I have no choice but to be the calming presence at all times. After letting him cry it out, I said what I always do in these situations. "Okay kiddo, time to stay calm and evaluate our best way to solve the issue."Fortunately, I had bought a third one to give as a prize toy at my kids bday party on the 30th. Unfortunately, it was a Chase. We were able to cannibalize the head and I promised my son we would paint it.We plopped some batteries in and away they went. Well, kind of. They don't really do much more than awkwardly sliding across the ground. Still it was okay....

My kids love paw patrol and have two dogs names Marshall and Chase. They love paw patrol toys and when then seen this toy they was so happy. They was able to be rough with it bc its made to take apart if they wanted. I have boys and they are always so rough on toys or taking toys apart to see how to put them back together,

This is an absolute little hunk of junk. I thought it would be cool and was excited to give it to my toddler. The head literally just falls off, the ears and hat fall off of that ("so the toddler can replace it repeatedly!" 🙄. The voice box says a few words, it tries to move, the body gets stuck in one position and the voice makes a screaming noise. Gee, thanks. My toddler literally asks me why Marshall is screaming and laying there. Nice waste of cash. I thought this would be really popular and paid 150 percent of what the price is today, as well...now I can't return it because the window has closed. I'm angry that I wasted that much money on a little hunk of ridiculously expensive, trash piece of crap.

My 5 year old daughter and I had a fun time building this Marshall Robot! She loves hearing his catchphrases and making him "jump". It was easy to follow the instructions to build and she was thrilled to decorate on her own with the stickers that were provided. Overall a cute activity to do with your child that provides hours of fun once it is completed.

It says ages 3-7 might need help assembling. This is NOT an easy toy to assemble. I can’t see a younger kid doing this even with help. I can barely see an older kid doing this with help. It’s not designed in a way that is kid friendly to put together AT ALL. And it gives directions to take it apart and put it back together, but that doesn’t seem reasonable at all.Plus when I put it together, it doesn’t do hardly anything as a “robot” and often just freezes and makes a high pitched squealing sound. The instructions have a weak fix for this (pretty much just moving the legs a bit to reset the mechanism). Maybe if the manufacturer knows this is a problem, they should have made a fix for it from the beginning.In fact it does so little as a robot, my kid doesn’t play with it. Save your money.
