Low cost highly functional scale for pour-over coffee.
Really good. I bought this for my work pour-over coffee setup, I have a Bonavita scale for home. Accurate, seems well built, easily stored. I really like the separate plastic pieces that make up the case. Smartly designed.Batteries seem to last a good long while. They've lasted a few months of intermittent use so far. Responsive when using it to measure my coffee grounds and while pouring the hot water over, no real lag issues. Measures to a tenth of a gram, adequate for my purposes. Never really needed to test the limits of what it will weigh.Backlight is fine, it shuts off pretty quickly, but it's never been an issue for me. Don't think it's waterproof, but that's not been an issue either. Also the cost is stupidly good. Can't recommend highly enough.

Battery hog
I originally posted this as a comment to another reviewer but thought that I should put in my own review:"I am also experiencing the same issue with the scale that I purchased. Put in fresh Eveready Lithium batteries when it arrived (May 2017) used it a few times and put it away. I took it out several days ago and scale found the batteries were dead. Put in a fresh set, used it and put it away again. I just took it out again to use and found that the scale is giving the low battery indication already! It hasn't been a week yet."I really like the size of the scale and it appears to be accurate but until I can get a calibrated reference weight I won't know for sure. I've also reached to the seller in a reply to their response of a post to another buyer experiencing a similar problem and I am presently waiting for a response.

Was good BUT stopped working after a few months
Scale was great, worked well for cofee pour over use. Stayed on after I would pour after a moment, very nice operation. BUT it just stopped working one day. I thought it may have been batteries and replaced them but it is still completely dead. So what would have been a 5 star rating is now 1 star.Too bad, I wanted to love this scale!

Good product, but not great: the displayed weight fluctuates
The form factor is great - the size of it, the controls, the display all work very well. The problem I am having is that the weight tends to fluctuate. For instance, I will put on my carafe, ceramic dripper and grounds, and tare that weight. Once I add water for the bloom, it will usually begin counting up. So I'll put in 50g or so of water, and as it blooms (and then as I add water), it might slowly go up to 50.2, 50.3, 50.4 etc. This tends to add a phantom 3-5g of weight to the total by the time I am done pouring. The value for the price is still pretty great, and for that it's borderline 4-stars. But I think ultimately I'll have to spend $50-100 on a much higher-quality scale, making this purchase something of a waste.

Meets my needs for pourover coffee brewing
I bought this scale (not given to me for review) to replace the terrible Ivation scale that I was putting up with before. So far I've been happy with this one. I wanted something more compact for traveling since I take my pourover coffee brewing setup with me everywhere I go. This really hits the spot size-wise for that purpose and it's well-suited in other aspects too. I just returned from 3 weeks in Asia using it twice a day with no probs. It comes with two little trays that can be used to place on top to contain things. The trays fit nicely over the weighing platform (smaller one) and then over the entire scale so it's very compact and space efficient. One thing you should know - the scale will not function properly if you leave the smaller tray on the weighing platform. You must remove both of the clear plastic trays before using. I may toss he smaller of the two as Inhavent used it. The bigger plastic cover that the whole scale fits in has been very useful. I use it to weigh coffee beans and the lip is a good size. 27 grams of beans pour perfectly into the top of my Lido-e hand grinder without spilling over the sides. The buttons feel a tad cheap but so far no functional issues. I guess it's what you expect for the price. Weighing seems accurate. I plan on testing in the future with some precise brass weights. Haven't had time yet.Auto-off - the 3 minute auto off time is a big requirement for me. 3 mins is minimum. My last scale had a 1 minute auto off and this is a pain in the rear for coffee-brewing during the initial bloom time. The box the scale comes in actually said 1 minute auto off if I recall but it's only the backlight that cuts off after a minute. The scale stays on.One time at the very end of my brewing session I noticed the weight start dropping slowly and constantly. I suspect this may have had something to do with the heat from my Hario carafe sitting on it. This has only happened once right after I got the scale.I would purchase this scale again based on my month of experience so far.

The results were great! It's very precise
As I have been a barista at a coffeeshop, I have realized the difference in the quality of a cup of coffee when one uses a consistent and correct amount of coffee grounds and water. While I get all the free coffee I want at work, I still have a cup at home in the evening and I was starting to notice the quality difference between my morning and evening coffees. So I scoured amazon for reviews on digital scales to use at home and decided on this one. The results were great! It's very precise, measuring to a tenth of a gram. It stays on for about a minute before automatically going to sleep, so it hasn't shut off while measuring the weight of water for an aeropress or pour over. It also comes with a tray to hold coffee beans while measuring their weight. It's a little smaller than I expected, but works great for what I use it for. It's a very reasonable price for the quality of scale it is. It even greets you with "hello" on the digital screen, lol :)Overall, this was a great buy and I am enjoying excellent cups of coffee at home!
