Airvoice Wireless SIM Card works as expected. Thanks!
I received my SIM card and inserted it into my old AT&T phone (which is an AT&T R225 which I unlocked, but not sure that it mattered) and went online to Airvoice's website, and activated the SIM with the number that is on the SIM card. It worked without any issues. I got my cell phone number (which it stated at the bottom of that activation page and I checked it on my phone) and then I went ahead and put $10 onto my phone as I had chosen the 250 minute or 250 text plan which is $10/mo. The balance was correct after a few seconds of that transaction taking place. I did have to dial *777# in order to check the balance as there is no way to tell on the airvoice website what your balance is.That is the only thing I do not (yet) like about Airvoice is that the only way to find out what your balance is is by dialing *777# (and hitting Send). It gives you a free message with your balance and expiration date.If you have a phone that is capable of browsing the net and receiving MMS you will need to provision your internet network. The phone I'm using can't really browse the net, though it is "capable" it only can use GPRS (slower than EDGE technology) and it can't receive MMS at all so I didn't bother provisioning it for airvoice. I will reply to this review with the link to help you figure out how to provision the data.Overall, so far, I do recommend Airvoice Wireless (and the seller I bought this SIM from: Accessory City Store) as they delivered what they promised, an unactivated, new Airvoice Wireless SIM card. Thanks!

Activation easy, customer service quick and polite, and plans inexpensive
Ordered two of these to get my two teenaged sons off of the AT&T pay as go plans that they were on. We are dong the $10 per month plan with their Iphones now. Here's the scoop: We called and got account and pin numbers from ATT, entered the information on the Airvoice website and in about three hours, the porting was complete. When they showed "no service" on their phones, we popped these now-activated sim cards in and they worked. HOWEVER, you will have to call customer service to let them know that you do want texting and/or data. I had each boy call (time to learn about wait times and customer service, right?) I believe each of them waited no more than five minutes, spoke to a calm, well-spoken service representative who talked them through the process of activating these features and they were done. They do have internet. . .pay-per-use. . .but with only $10 credit, they plan to use it in just emergencies. Texting on the $10 plan is two cents a text, calls, four cents per minute. AND. . .check this out. . .if you don't let your minutes expire, they roll over to the next month. And so far, seems just as good as Att on reception. (uses ATT towers.)

Airvoice wireless is great but porting not so easy
A SIM card is what it is. It was bought to use the services of Airvoice wireless which is the lowest cost carrier I could find. It is for a wife who never uses a cell phone but on rare occasions I need to find her in a shopping mall. The number must be ported before the SIM card is activated, you must have purchased airtime before porting, you cannot buy airtime until you have a number. It seemed like a catch 22 situation. As I could not figure how to do it I let the folks at Airvoice wireless do it for me. Now 10 days later and about 20 hours total speaking to customer service it has all worked out. The delay was frustrating but the folks at airvoice wireless were always pleasant and seemed to be doing what they could to resolve.

Works just fine
I had been using my iPhone with AT&T's go-phone plan (pay as you go with no data service asked for).It came to pass that AT&T was charging me for unexplainable and unwanted services beyond the $1.00 per day/$.10 per minute contract that is plain as day. Twice AT&T charged me $25.00+ in one day! I found this out by looking at the past-usage for 30 days feature they have.Anyway, I swapped over to Airvoice and I love it. It is the same, or better, signal service than AT&T and the only charge is $.10 per minute, which is great. It was Too easy to sign up and so I made a call to customer service, and they helped me politely and quickly and no long-time wait.My landlord uses this service for his daughter's phone and finds no complaints.Highly recommended. Also, this may be the best individual phone plan bargain on the market based on cost and performance.

Great deal & Happy with service
Got this for my wife's phone. Was not sure what to expect but it was simple to activate and it seems to work very well so far. I am very happy with this card and service as long as it stays as good as it is. We are in a location with good AT&T service so to make sure you have the same experience make sure you are in a similar type of area because it works on that network. I purchased mine here on Amazon and it was delivered as promised and is exactly as advertised. Don't be surprised though when you get the card and it does not look like the picture, it is for AirVoice and does work.

Works great for iPHONE 3gs
I bought this to try and save some money on my teenage son's phone plan. I was using an ATT pay as you go sim card in his iPhone, but this past May I noticed I had to refill it alot ($40 worth). So I figured I'll give the Airvoice wireless sim a try (can't go wrong for a $5 investment). I read that Airvoice piggybacks on AT&T's network so a 3GS iPhone shouldn't be a problem.I got the sim card and went onto Airvoice's website to activate it. I popped it into my son's Iphone and it worked. Now I'm not super tech savy and honestly, I was actually pretty surprised as to how easy it went. I signed up for the $10 a month plan and it took my about 23 days for my teenager to chew through it. But it's still a much cheaper alternative, and there is no difference in signal strength.I puchashed two more and they should be arriving this week. I'm going to use one for my wifes iPhone 3G and an old HTC HD2 I have kicking around. We don't really need to use data because we're always near wifi. I'll re-post a review after I get the two phones setup. This is the first Amazon purchase I have ever reviewed and I would definately reccomend it.
