Beautiful dark gray color, shiny, lasts for weeks
I am transitioning to natural gray. The Chrome was excellent. Pretty dark gray color with great shine. Because I have natural white and gray, weakly bleached mid-shaft and previously colored red and then bleached ends, I used the Ion pre-color treatment to even the color. Mixed with the Ion Sensitive Scalp 20 volume developer and left on for 30 minutes. Rinsed, shampooed with Redken Magnetics and finished with the Ion after-color treatment. Very happy with the result and will be using again. The color has faded somewhat after ten shampoos but is expected with a demi-permanent. Using the Celeb Luxury Viral ColorWash shampoo in silver has extended the color since then.

It’s not chrome.
I have mostly gray/silver hair naturally with some dirty blonde/light brown areas. I don’t like the dullness of the blonde/brown. My gray/silver is pretty and shiny. I wanted chrome silver hair color to bring that out more. This turned all of my hair to more of a dull light brown with dull gray hints. Do not use on partially silver hair if you are going for chrome/silver. Very disappointed and not happy I spent $20 on this and developer for my hair to look worse. Now spending more to take the color back out.

I have a tried several toners that look great at first but wash out quickly (two weeks tops)
I have a tried several toners that look great at first but wash out quickly (two weeks tops). I have highlights ranging from a golden blonde to the ends a very light blonde close to white (level 7-9) with ombre 7-9 level combination. The level on my bleach range for three reasons: the painting motion I use to fade the color, how well the hair lightens, and the sulfur in the water. My original color is a dark brown level 2 may be 3 at the ends. I tried the ion color Snow Cap. VERY DISAPPOINTING. No change at all with Snow Cap. I had a dingy orange look recently in my hair also due to currently living in a location that is very remote and has sulfur in the water. The sulfur has stripped my hair of any color deposits and stained in an orange dingy tone. Sulfur water will stain a white shirt to a dingy dull dirty look. On to the fun part....I covered my ends with Olaplex 2 the night before. The day of, I used one a half tube for all of my hair that is somewhat long--it stops at my bra line. I mixed color and developer the with 3:1.5:1.5 ratios on most of my hair. The mix: chrome shade 3 oz: with level 10, 1.5 oz, and level 20, 1.5 oz. Once mixed add olaplex per their intructions--I think it way 1/5 oz. I began with my roots to mid-length all over. Then, on the ends, I whatever amount was left, I added about 1/5 ox of glycerin and applied the leftover mix to the ends. I left it on for about 45 minutes total. I am happy with the result for the most part. It toned the bright orange/brassy out better than the other toners. My roots have a bit of light brown look to them. The mid length to ends has a sandy ashy look to them. Super happy with the mid length to end color.I will update on how long is remains in my hair.

My favorite silver; reliable, consistent, non-damaging and very pretty.
I really impressed by the depth and tone of this color. It comes out true to color and lasts a lot longer on me (and with much better color saturation) than Wella Color Charm ever did.My hair is a variety of colors, from natural white, silver and dark brown, with some of it pre-lightened from previous bleaching and toning. You'd think that would be a recipe for disaster, but this toner gives me a nicely shaded dark silver, eliminating the yellow tones in just 20 minutes. A drop of their ash booster helps as well. The key is using developer as instructed. I've seen a lot of folks complaining about immediate loss of tint when diluting with a conditioner instead, and that makes sense. This color requires a developer. I used Ion's 20 volume (sensitive skin) and it works great; lots of tint with minimal damage. One great benefit of this formulation over their permanent "Titanium" shade is that it doesn't wash out pigment by pigment; it simply fades back to your original color, so no fears of ending up with green hair. My color lasts for a few weeks when I do a full shampoo twice weekly.A product that really helps prevent fading for me is Pantene's "cleansing conditioner" (available here on Amazon). It's a sulfate-free, non-foaming shampoo that cleans gently without stripping. It's terrific on all types except oily hair.
