Dream pot! Best Dutch oven I've found.
This cast iron Dutch oven cooking pot is actually better than a really expensive and heavy one. There is no reason why I would need or want a $400 pot when I can have this one, which is made in Germany, and of very good quality, and much lighter. Lighter doesn't mean cheaply made; the iron is harder than what other Dutch ovens are made of, and heats up faster. The enamel is thick and fused onto the iron, so it remains sealed from the liquid in the pot. Other Dutch ovens are just coated with enamel, so if it gets a chip or a scratch, it’s usually the beginning of the end, because liquid begins to seep in and separate the enamel from the cast iron. Not so with this pot. There are many cast iron Dutch ovens for sale that are heavy, but are still cheapies made in China, and many of them cost as much as this one. It also has a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The pot is so beautiful, I leave it out on my stovetop so I can look at it. I got the Azure Blue, 5.3 Quarts, a generous size for making quite a large quantity of food (unless you are cooking for a lot of people; then you might want the bigger one). I really love this pot and was so happy to have come across it, finally, after hours of searching online for a good quality Dutch oven at a reasonable price. It looks exactly like in the product photos here, so I didn't see any need to attach photos.

Easy to handle large volume Dutch oven
I received my Merten & Storck German Enameled Iron, Round 5.3QT Dutch Oven Pot with Lid, Cobalt Blue as a gift. It is not only a beautiful kitchen tool, but very functional. I love how it browns foods but cleans up with little fuss. Typical cast iron dutch ovens are hard to handle due to their weight. A smaller traditional Dutch oven I have weighs almost as much as this 5.3 qt. The Merten & Storck German Enameled Iron round oven pot with lid is made with a lighter weight iron that is coated with a non-stick enamel both inside and outside the pot. It heats quickly and cooks up food like a charm. The 5.3 qt is a perfect size, large enough to make good size portions, but not too large. I enjoy my cooking experience much more with this pot than any other I have used over the years. Highly recommended!

Merten & Storck European Crafted Enameled Iron, Round 7QT Dutch Oven Casserole with Lid, Galaxy Grey
I've only used it once, but it worked very well to cook a braised chicken recipe, and it also cleaned up easily. I am sure it will be my go-to pot for cooking many Dutch oven recipes in the future. I've never owned a Dutch oven, but this one looks great, is not too heavy and seems well built. Only time will tell.

High quality and color looks amazing
I wanted a dutch oven but live in an apartment and need something I can easily move around and store. Made of steel rather than cast iron, this is a high quality piece of cookware that I love using. It's not huge at 5.3 qts so consider the bigger size if you make huge roasts or soup for 6+. The ceramic coating is very nonstick and if it gets discolored, a little baking soda scrub restores it to new.

Serious Dutch oven contender! I am loving it
I have always been a quality cookware person. And never purchase china made cook wear.I need a Dutch oven between my Staub 4 quart and my Staub 6 quart.I did some research and discovered this Dutch oven made in Germany, and was on sale so I took a chance.Oh my goodness what a great Dutch ovenNice and light weight heats up very fast was very easy to clean I really love it. It is MUCH lighter than my Staub and Le Creuset and that is good and bad, it moves around on the stove when you are adding and stirring! As I got used to that I was ok. I wish they had more colored than the grey but I don’t think any serious cook will be disappointed!

UPDATE: Needed a red pot this size!
Excellent pot, however, it’s extremely heavy and the first time Are used it, I found it difficult to obtain the right temperature. Now that I have used the pot many, many times, I like it even more. No matter what I cook, I am pleased with the result, and the pot comes outs clean & shiny every time.
